We've all seen this Nike spot:

Am I the only one who thinks it would be cool if, when the Cavaliers play this just before tip, the live crowd fully participated? How great would it be for an entire arena to do the "Hard Work" and "Together", then have the entire crowd put a hand up and yell "Cleveland" as loud as they can?

Sure, you'd probably need cues from the Jumbotron to pull it off and not everyone would participate, but it seems like it would make for something incredible prior to home games.

I was in town for the opener but I was not at the game. I was in the streets of downtown Cleveland and local bars watching the game. That happened in the streets and in the bar where I was watching. Everyone was yelling and chanting "hard work" and "together", and everyone in the bar put their hands up in a huddle together. Typing it out, it sounds kind of cheesy, but honestly it was insanely surreal and chill-worthy.

They did at the home opener. It was awesome.

I was at the opener - a good number of people did it but not enough to truly make a huge impact. I'd love to see it become even more of a "thing" going forward.

Personally, I'd prefer something to be organic and truly Cleveland, not dreamed up by some Madison Avenue advertising executive.

That being said, the commercial does show Cleveland in a positive light nationally, and that's something that doesn't happen very often.

I love the commercial, but it has been overplayed to death at this point. Everytime i'm watching an NBA game it comes on, it gave me the chills the first few times.. Not anymore.

True.. But I was wondering, is the commercial just shown locally?

Fantastic idea. Seems the entire concept has been embraced by the team as well - each huddle draws a "1-2-3 TOGETHER" chant from the team. Would be phenomenal to hear the crowd do this on a nightly basis as a sort of 'home town ritual' if you like.

Being from another country, I've for years wanted NBA fans to display some sort of breathtakingly chill-worthy chant during NBA games. Take this for example: A "soccer" cultural atmosphere has never been apart of Australian sports but in 2010, for the first time in the history of AFL football, 80,000 people chanted one single word in unison which gave everyone in the building chills:

Could you imagine the effect of a 20,000 Cleveland sports fans joining together for long, drawn-out chorus of "CLLEEEEEVVEEELAAANDDDDD" late in the 4th when a win is looking on the cards. It would blow the NBA world away and give the city of Cleveland another novelty to claim. Again, it's probably not going to resonate with a lot of NBA fans as it's something that's never been seen or heard within this sort of context but the example above does prove that it can be introduced in any sporting environment and still reap the same hauntingly wonderous results.

I really don't believe that Cleveland fans need some commercial to get "extra pumped" for the home games. We already have the best fan base in the entire NBA. Only OKC could argue with that statement.

Don't forget Golden State, Utah, and Portland.

It's not the commercial that will get people pumped, it's the notion of the entire crowd coming together for a chant as depicted in the commercial.

All i am saying is that if we need a commercial to get our crowd pumped before the game, with this team, we got issues. I believe our fans are better than that.
