Let me start this thread with a trade idea.

Cleveland receives: Zach LaVine

Chicago receives: Collin Sexton & Taurean Prince

Why?

Cleveland adds an experienced star player next to their young core. He's an expiring so his value is probably somewhat low.

Chicago gets a young guard on a rookie contract who has the makings of an all star. Prince is added to make salaries match.

So in this scenario, we trade Sexton for a guy who will likely leave in Free Agency after one season.? Not sure I see the logic.

My logic is that we'd have his bird rights, which means we can offer him a 5 year max. I don't think he'd turn that down.

Cleveland receives: Deni Avdija, Davis Bertans & 15th pick

Washington receives: Larry Nance Jr., Taurean Price & 4th pick

Why?

Cleveland moves down but acquires a potential star in Avdija & a three point specialist in Bertans.

Washington moves up in this deep draft & acquires two pretty solid role players in the process.

I don't think he would.

I mean this rips the band-aid off in picking between Garland and Sexton, and choosing Garland.

LaVine is the real deal on offense. And has shown signs of being able to play decent defense in spurts.

I might do this trade.

Nothing about Avdija says "star" player. Washington would trip all over themselves to make this trade.

CJ McCollum to the Clippers
Kevin Love, picks from LA to Portland
Pat Beverley and Marcus Morris to Cleveland

Cleveland receives: Jimmy Butler & Precious Achiuwa

Miami receives: Collin Sexton, Isaac Okoro, Cedi Osman, Taurean Prince & 4th pick

Why?

Cleveland goes all in to try to win with their young core by adding a solid vet in Jimmy Butler. They get Achiuwa as well who could be a good fit next to Allen in the frontcourt.

Miami hits the reset button. They overachieved last year but in reality, they're stuck in mediocrity. They get a good package of young players & picks to start a rebuild if that's the direction they want to go.

Your worst one yet. Love it. Keeping me entertained.

Dawg. All the no's that ever no'd. This is bad.

Cleveland receives: Zach LaVine, Thaddeus Young & Coby White

Chicago receives: Darius Garland & Kevin Love

Why?

Cleveland adds some serious talent. LaVine was an all star, Young was fantastic off their bench & White would be a good bench piece who would complement Sexton in the backcourt very well. LaVine is an expiring but we'd acquire his bird rights, meaning we'd be able to offer him a 5 year max.

Chicago gets a promising young guard in Garland. He's a huge upgrade over what they have @ point guard. Kevin Love only has two years left starting next season so his value is neutral @ worst.

This is absolutely not it.

Love has negative value. And when I say negative, I mean like have to include a lotto pick negative value. Garland is good, but you'd barely get Coby White for Garland at this point, let alone a legitimate NBA scorer like Zach LaVine.

this over values Love who the Bulls would never want and although Garland might be interesting for Chicago it would not be with Lavine exiting at all. this is doa imo

I think we should look at possible trades with Boston. Not for any of their established stars or any of our young core but swapping guys like Nance and Prince for their young talent like Robert Williams, Nesmith, Romeo Langford, and/or Carson Edwards.

Boston needs to get their players on the same timeline. Those young players need time to develop but the Celtic already should be in win now with Tatum, Brown, and an aging Kemba. Nance and Prince would solidify their rotation. The two guys I would really want is Nesmith and Langford.
