Trade in East soon? (Big trade?)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ariza = 3rd team in three years.

LA
Houston
New Orleans

It makes you wonder if something isn't right with him.

Or it makes you wonder if Houstons GM isn't a chimp. He should never have signed Ariza to be the first option on his team, he set Ariza up to fail.

Morey is one of the best in the business. Shrewd move turning Ariza into Courtney Lee, similar production/skill-set, Lee is about 5 times cheaper.

Not really. He took the more lucrative deal in Houston, then needed to be shipped out because the Rockets traded for Kevin Martin. Can't have Ariza taking shots from Martin and, if he's healthy, Yao. Ariza seems to have fallen victim to things beyond his control.

I agree completely about this move, but everyone knew at the time that the Ariza signing was a bad one. It isn't the money he was signed for, but it is the role that he was asked to play.

I agree that as far as value goes, Ariza for Lee is a pretty good salary dump move. But if I really wanted to get rid of Ariza, I would have just given him to New Orleans for an expiring and a future 1st. Lee isn't going to get enough minutes in Houston behind Martin, so it's better to have a pick that you can either package in another trade or use to draft a big man.

Ariza and Peja for Jamison or Mo plus expirings at the deadline?

Horrible move for the Hornets IMO.

Maybe Houston is clearing out at the SF posistion so they can go after Tayshaun Prince, they could send either Battier or Jeffries along with Chuck Hayes.

Just a thought.

New Orleans doesn't need Mo, or Jamison. But if we made a deal it would be Jamison and Andy for Ariza, Peja, and maybe Brackins plus a pick.

Everyone in here rips on Ariza and then we start making trade proposals for him?

He doesn't want to play in Cleveland- I don't want him here.

If we got Troy Murphy last year we could have gotten Darren Collison and Posey. Then we could trade Posey to a contender for a young overlooked player. Should have gotten Troy. :D

Interesting take, and it's hard to believe that Murphy could have been any worse at guarding Garnett than Jamison was in the Playoffs.

And a much better take than anyone saying that we should have gotten Collison. People need to realize that, whatever your opinion of Ariza, the Cavs don't have anyone who is nearly as good a fit for the Hornets.

And I disagree with anyone who thinks that Courtney Lee is a replacement for Ariza. Ariza may not have been great last season, but he's still a heck of a lot better than Courtney Lee.

I think we could have gotten Troy if we gave up JJ but it was too much. Indiana played its cards right and got their PG of the future. Kudos to Mr. Bird.

I think we really need to look to trade for one of the horrible contracts of GS plus their unprotected first round pick.
