Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I mean he looked like he was completely finished as an NBA player. I honestly thought he would never play again in the NBA.

And then, during the two biggest games of this playoffs, TT becomes part Rodman and part Tim Duncan.

Craziest shit of all time. Love it. It's going to make a great 30 on 30 for ESPN when we win it all this year.

He was playing the long game :chuckle:

But I think there were several issues with Tristan during the regular season. The first is his mental focus wasn’t there, because it’s hard to get up for games that don’t matter. The second is his recent injuries robbed him of a lot of his physical ability and athleticism. And the third is he was flat out out of shape. He got fucking fat and slow.

Remarkably, all 3 of those things seem to be fixed in the playoffs and he looks like 2016 TT again.

TT is doing things no one else on the Cavs can do. I love Nance (and would like to see some minutes) but TT is able to get on the offensive glass with such relentlessness. I’ve noticed a few times the last couple games where he has stayed grounded on good moving pump fakes - solid, fundamental defense. He seems to like the big lights. Keep it up, TT!

He’s also been outstanding at moving his feet on switches. Which is one of the things that made him useful in the first place.

And he’s far and away the best screen setter on the team. The Cavs really leveraged that screen setting by having him set off ball screens for Korver forcing Jonas out of the paint at times.

The switches, the rebounding, the intensity, the hustle, the free throws, and the finishing around the rim are showing us why TT got paid.

I can roll with this guy. Hopefully the K-curse, the injuries & the roster turnover is what hurt him because I would love to see Tristan turn it around.

Kind of crazy that TT sucked so bad all season that he fell out of the rotation, yet he came back in that game 7 after not playing to literally save our season. We wouldn't be playing right now if it wasn't for TT. I hope he can keep this up. We need it.

I was to the point this season where I honestly believed Tristan was going to play himself right out of the league. I didn't think he was worth $1 million a season.

Now? He's playing like he earned every dollar of that contract.

This is the biggest plot twist since Darth Vader first told Luke Skywalker "I am your father."

yeah, this is incredible. He keeps this up then RCF and everyone posting on it (definitely including me) has to eat some crow. Can't believe TT may be the answer to our question of who the fuck is going to show up under playoff pressure.

Seriously, once he dropped out of the line-up this year, I was expecting he was finished as an NBA player, he looked that bad. After his injury this year he was quoted as saying, "When you play, what, five years straight, you'll never be 100 percent again. That's out the door". I was thinking WTF kind of attitude is that? Out the door? OK, right TT. Happy I to see him back to his old form, hope he keeps this intensity!
