Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, it's tough to be a great father if you live in Ohio for 7-8 months of the year, and your kid lives in California.

I dispute this....

There are literally hundreds of fathers in the NBA, married and single, who live away from their families during the season.

One of the best dudes in the NBA, who I know a little bit first-hand, keeps his family in Texas year round, going back to his Maverick days. Guy is massively involved in his children’s lives regardless of what city he is playing for. Jason Terry couldn’t be more of a class act (FaceTiming his kids coaches to thank them for their support/time/guidance during baseball season) from cold ass Milwaukee in February.

But that is one example.....dudes all over the NBA set up “home” for their families outside of the city they play in and make it work.

Tristan is a man.....he is paid millions of dollars. He can support his kid(s) in multiple ways even if he can’t physically be there all the time.

I am confident Tristan will be able to average 2.7 points per game next season.

Right. And that puts them in the exact same boat. They obviously can work hard to do the best parenting job they can under the circumstances, but they simply can't do a great job if they're only seeing the kid in person 4-5 times over a 6 month period.

It's different if they're living with or nearby the kid, and so see them every day or every few days during home stands. But living 2000 miles apart....

Takes more than writing checks to be a great father, and I say that as a divorced dad myself. And that is especially true with babies/toddlers. Phone calls, skype, etc., cannot make up for the extended lack of physical contact/performance of parenting tasks in person.

My point isn't to slam on NBA players. I'm just addressing the limited point that TT breaking up with Khloe and not living in the same state will affect his relationship with his daughter.

The sooner TT is gone from this team, the better. My new mantra for some of the dead weight on our roster is, "maximize value then move ASAP". I'll put TT, JR, Clarkson and Hood all in this bucket.

TT and JR are such negatives I assume we'll be stuck with them and we'll have to wait them out, and Lue will have them on the court way more than any of us here will want to see as long as they are still on the roster.

Seems to me that Koby is a guy who values BBIQ/work ethic over raw physical talent. And if so, of the guys you listed, JR, Clarkson, and Hood are all net negatives in that regard.

I wish my father would have been able to spend the time with me and indulge me for 6 months every year.

Much better than seeing ever night at 10 PM right before bed and then having no time to spend with him when I had vacations.

They have a mom that can take care of them when their fathers are away and enough money to make it much less of an issue compared to single parents that don't have any money.

I don't think the children of NBA basketball players have it bad on any account.

I think you're right about Altman. I'm not so sure about Lue. I think Lue values experience above everything else.

I'll have to see it to believe anything different, and I hope that either 1) I'm wrong about Lue, or 2) Altman forces Lue to manage player development properly over trying to get every last win at expense of player development.

Draymond is the biggest snake in the grass. Too bad he didn’t get KTFO.

Since when does Drama Queen apologize about anything???
Mom musta put him up to it..and in that, he shoulda got smacked..but you smack 'em, knock them out.

I really want to know if Tristan punched him with his left or right hand. Because from what I've seen, he sucks with both.
