Re: Cavaliers vs. Wizards November 1st, 2006

Nice work Ben....was looking forward to the first preview of the year.

Man, it's already almost November 1st. What the hell happens to the year?

I am fully expecting a win in this game. I expect a solid game from Marshall and AV as well. Andy should be able to work the 2 man game with LeBron, as they did in the playoffs last year. I also expect to see a more fluid offense from the Cavs - instead of just relying on LeBron to make something happen.

Larry will be determined against his old mates. The defensive intensity from Cleveland will be too much for the Wiz, as will the fired up home crowd.

Prediction: A 6 point win that isn't as close as the score displays.

Re: Cavaliers vs. Wizards November 1st, 2006

Good work Ben. This is my favorite part:

"Haywoodja' blow me seems to give Ilgauskas fits at times. Why? I have no idea. He's a stiff that will get more bench time then playing time."

I would also say that if Gooden keeps playing like a man possessed we are at least even between him and Jamison at PF.

The Q will be rocking on Wednesday night and LBJ will be ready to put on a show on the national TV stage (again). I expect us to win relatively easy in this one. The Q will be a tough place for anyone to play this year. 31-10 last year at home and I expect us to improve from that. (BTW, winning at home and establishing a home-field advantage, what a concept. Maybe some day the Browns could try that.)

Re: Cavaliers vs. Wizards November 1st, 2006

I fully expect to win this game in a dominating fsahion....

except I am also expecting Gilbert Arenas to drop over 35 so it may look a little closer than it actually is but we win

I also expect Larry to come out hard to show us the "real" Larry and he has a nice game

and of course I expect LeBron to surpass expectations....maybe a triple-double opener....that would be cool

Re: Cavaliers vs. Wizards November 1st, 2006

I think this will be a close game with the Cavs managing to grind out a win. I think we're the better team, but the Wiz are a bad matchup for us with their athleticism on the perimeter. Our backcourt looks even slower than last year. I say Cavs win 103-97.

Re: Cavaliers vs. Wizards November 1st, 2006

the only way we lose or get close to losing is if they are on fire from 3 pt land....if they are not I feel comfortable saying we will win

Re: Cavaliers vs. Wizards November 1st, 2006

This game scares me...

Followed up by the Spurs

Re: Cavaliers vs. Wizards November 1st, 2006

Their best weapon on LeBron last year was Jared Jeffries..he is a Knickerbocker and is on the shelf 6 weeks..I expect him to burn Jamison all night or just overpower Stevenson..

Re: Cavaliers vs. Wizards November 1st, 2006

What? No mention of the fact that AV will play in this game? last year he was out til January. This year we will see him early and often.

Re: Cavaliers vs. Wizards November 1st, 2006

BTW Ben, I am pretty sure Etan Thomas will get the nod over Brendan Haywood Wednesday night.. Might want to change that..

If so, good news..

Re: Cavaliers vs. Wizards November 1st, 2006

I took the starting lineup from the Wizards forum game thread. Although it was from Realgm its probably wrong. I'll change it to Thomas.

Etan Thomas will be starting at Center for the Wizards, look for a double-double for Z by the end of the first quater.

Re: Cavaliers vs. Wizards November 1st, 2006

I'd be curious to know, what these teams records were.. And if good enough for the playoffs, where did they finish..

The Cavaliers will begin the 2006-07 season the same way they started last season, with Eric Snow, Larry Hughes, LeBron James, Drew Gooden and Zydrunas Ilgauskas in the starting lineup. That will mark the third time in team history (1975-77 and 1977-79) that Cleveland will begin consecutive seasons with the same starting lineup.

Re: Cavaliers vs. Wizards November 1st, 2006

Nice preview Ben, that's going to be a tough act to follow. :chuckles:

Re: Cavaliers vs. Wizards November 1st, 2006

Apparently Thomas will be starting, he's 6'10 of pure stiff. Why they think he can even sniff Z's jock is beyond me.Look for Z to hook him into submission early and often.

LMAO.....
