This offseason not only will be lively with the marquee free agents wandering around from team to team, and raising a media ruckus wherever they go, but will also have a number of teams in finfncial distress holding firesales of their talent. Purging their rosters and their team salary commitments to make their teams more fiscally responsible, and to make their franchises as attractive, and as valuable as possible to prospective buyers.

The first team to throw themselves into this mix is the Golden State Warriors. They are officially for sale, and next we will see the calculated and systematic destruction of the roister as it stands today.

Anything could become available for the right price. More teams will be following suit as the season winds down and the offseason comes for these teams in this financial spot.

Biedrins, Randolph and Stephen Curry for West, Moon, Telfair, and Powe? :chuckles:

DO IT FERRY!

I'm sure everyone "could" be available, but Stephen Curry seems to be the least available. A new ownership would get to target whomever they want, of course, but Ellis, Maggette, Biedrins, and Randolph are the names that have been floating around in trade talks for a year. People "in the know" out here also repeatedly use the phrase "a player to build your team around" when talking about Curry.

I wonder how motivated Ferry would be to bring in an up and coming star point guard like Stephen Curry, when we do have a very servicable and relatively young guy at the point, who was an allstar last year, in Mo Williams. Mo's got a great attitude, but I can't see him being happy with coming off the bench, and he couldn't start at the 2 against most teams.

But still that's the guy you instinctively think of when you hear this kind of thing. He's turning into fullout baller.

Not sure anyone else on their roster fits with the Cavs. You could make a case for Biedrins because of his defensive and rebounding ability, but without a jumper and any post-moves you'd be putting alot of pressure on the PF to score.

/Looks for big centers on the roster,
holy shit!! That's a lot of injuries and d leaguers

Andris Biedrins
6-11, 240lbs built like a twig
signed till 2014 @$9 mil a year
injured most of this year

Ronny Turiaf
6-10, 250lbs
signed for next year with player option the following @ 4.2 mil a year

They don't really perk my interest that much...

The only guy that would really interest me outside of Curry would be Randolph. It would be nice to get a talented 7 footer to breed next to JJ. Randolph looks closer to a SF than a C at this point though so he probably doesn't have much a place here either.

Randolph is a 6'10" 210lb twig unfortunately..

It's also a good thing for the Warriors that Randolph said he has "pretty much been in the weight room every day." When the principal of Urban Promise Academy middle school introduced Randolph to students, he described him as a "6-foot-10, 210-pound forward."

Off to the side, Randolph quietly said to an observer: "Actually, 7-foot, 222 pounds."

No idea if he was embellishing or not, but he did look like he grew a bit since his rookie season to me. But yeah, he still doesn't look like a C.

There are actually many players I would love to have from that team.

1. Steph Curry
A Curry/Mo/Delonte backcourt would be small but unstoppable.
2. Brandan Wright
He is like a bigger JJ that can shoot a bit. JJ/Wright frontcourt would be nice.
3. Biendris
Doesn't like to bang in the post, but he can defend and fits our bill for a center.
4. Randolph
Good upside and big enough to play the 5 in 2-3 years.
5. Azbuike
No one talks about him. He is a great option at the 2.
6. CJ Watson
see Kelena
7. Maggette
would be nice off the bench

Biedrins would be great if he could be had for cheap. He's a good rebounder and could make life difficult for Howard and Bogut. And if the Cavs get a better center, he can probably come off the bench.

Randolph has a great future, but the only reason the Cavs would want him is to make putting JJ in a package easier. I think he's a goner though, considering how much talent the Warriors have traded off over the years. Hopefully for us Bay Area guys Ellison makes this team more competitive.

Im going to be looking specifically at Anthony Randolph and their 1st round pick.

Larry Ellison should be the frontrunner for purchasing the warriors

i expect him to only keep Curry, Ellis, Morrow, Randolph, Wright, Watson, and Kelenna

Lol, their 1st round pick is practically untouchable. They're probably going to get the #2 or #3, and Ellison wouldn't want to start off his Warrior ownership with giving away Evan Turner to the Cavs.

And I'm sure GSW will be willing to trade two of their few cheap assets for what we have.

I agree with that list except maybe not Monta, depending on the offers they can get for him.

I don't know why anyone would expect good players/prospects with salaries under a few million to be traded. Moving those players will not make the team more fiscally responsible OR more appealing to buyers.

How do you guys think Anthony Morrow could fit as a 2 guard here? I don't watch a lot of GSW games but he seems to have a nice stroke. I just don't know how he would fit defensively since he's spent his whole career playing in a no defense system.
