I have been reading a good amount of trade ideas from others on the board- and a lot of them are great. Really, they are. I think, however, there is one thing we should clear up: trading Wally Szczerbiak is not an option anymore. It may have been earlier in the season, but now it's extremely unlikely.

Hey, Brian! Brian Windhorst answers your Cleveland Cavaliers questions

Hey, Brian: What are the chances of the Cavs signing and trading Wally Szczerbiak and/or Lorenzen Wright? It seems like a preferable option to losing Zydrunas Ilgauskas for 30 days, or altogether. -- Brad Flores, Columbus

Hey, Brad: Szczerbiak just took a job as a college basketball analyst for CBS. It would have to take a very large and special offer to get him to give up that position to come back and not play for a team. The Cavs do not have Lorenzen Wright's Bird rights, he cannot be signed and traded. I would say the ship has sailed on this type of trade.

Its an option if he's offered millions of dollars.

Its an option if he's offered millions of dollars.

that about sums it up. of course the only reason he would be needed is if they needed millions of dollars to be sent out

Ferry said something in the memphis chalk talk (I believe) about Wally being used in a deal as likely.

Will people please stop posting that Wally can not be signed and traded due to the fact that he has a new job! The fact that he has not officially retired yet should tell everyone something. Plus he'll be making peanuts compared to what he would make by being traded.

Ferry has mentioned openy in conversations, and I believe on the radio that they both are trade options that we have.

Why wouldn't he except it? He'll probably get paid at least 3mil.. probably more then he'll ever earn at CBS, just to slap ass and leave...

Wally after call form Ferry... Philly here I comeeee....:chuckles:

Wally is an option.

It may not be likely, but it's not off the table by ANY means.

Welcome to the board Lamar Scrotum :chuckles:, for the name and the epic smackdown that followed your theory.

Welcome to the board. Now lurk more.

I guess this settles it in my mind.....

The day I can't trust Lamar Scrotum is the day I stop believing in this world.

Excuse my audacity, but at this point I truly do not think it is likely that we sign + trade Wally. I'm not trying to force my opinion onto anybody, but even Windhorst says it's unlikely. It would take one heck of an offer. But hey, if I end up being incorrect, then by all means will I admit that I was wrong.
