He is unrestricted. We arent going to get Villanueva, which to me isnt that big of a deal.

I say throw the full MLE at Arriza for five years and hope it sticks. This guy can make a HUGE difference for us.

The only thing is at 6 mil per year, the Lakers can probably outdo us. Hopefully they prefer Odom of Trevor and get bogged down into a spending war with some other team to keep Lamar.

If Odom leaves like it saw on Hoopshype then Ariza might be getting 8-10 mil a year. That would be crazy.

I think the Lakers compromise with Ariza for somewhere between his demans and the MLE. Odom would supposedly take less to stay in LA but you never know with NBA players. They can often act like teenage girls when they feel they arent getting enough "love" or attention.

You'd think the Lakers would be such a cash cow that Jerry Buss wouldnt trip so much over the luxury tax especially when they have a proven championship squad with a window to win more championships

No it's not. they're one of the only teams that can give him more then the mid. what needs to happen though is some outside interest to incentivize the Lakers to spend more then they want to. That applies to Odom too.

I'm not sure I would want Ariza, he had one good year in the triangle offense, before that did anyone hear anything about him, no. My thinking is that hes like a Shannon Brown, where they fit in that system and nothing else. Thats my opinion on him.
