Generation of entitled snowflake kids who spent their childhoods settling for participation trophies.

I first received a participation ribbon almost fifty years ago after our team finished first of fifty some teams. Second year running we won; first year we got first place ribbons. This shit’s been with us for a long time.

When I coached my son’s soccer team to second in a tournament 25 years later he got a second place trophy at seven years old and went OFF about how it was a real trophy and not a “moms” trophy.

Are any of us here today for freaking participation awards? Didn’t think so.
