Week 9: Browns vs Cardinals

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Arizona's front office should be embarrassed or given a tanking raise. I would take the 0-16 Browns over them.

They were slightly competitive with Dobbs at QB. Traded him and elevated a rookie who’s not good, hadn’t taken many first team reps, and put him up against Jim Schwartz and this defense. Not smart.

We kept being told be certain posters that Watson has a dead arm. Miraculously healed because his arm didn’t look too dead today.

honestly i thought i saw a few passes where that arm was still negativel affected by the injury.

Agreed. His touch on some of the shorter routes was off. Can’t complain though. Those deep passes were fantastic. Copper didn’t even have to break his stride on the second one.

I want to see our offense in shotgun. 11, 12, and 21 personnel.

Early on I think we should deploy some simple concepts. Inside zone runs. Screens. Maybe some RPOs. 3-step drops. Give Deshaun simple reads and let him feel out his arm.

Then as the game go on, I do want to see some bigger shots. 7-step dropbacks. This Cardinals defense has terrible coverage with terrible pass rush. We will probably be able to give Deshaun the blocking he needs to build his comfort level. I watched us block very well against the Seahawks for PJ who was able to scan the field on some deeper dropbacks. I think we can do the same against the Cardinals with Deshaun.

Our defense just need to play their game, nothing special. Clayton Tune was a gunslinger in college... if he's starting his first game, there WILL be opportunities to make big plays. Catch the damn ball. Let's get Myles to 2+ sacks to surpass TJ.
Glad Stefanski saw this. :chuckle:

Good stepping stone game for the offense. Hopefully they come in guns blazing on both sides next week. I'm convinced the D packed it in after watching DTR trip over his dick in his 1st game.

Watson still has a way to go, but I'm hopeful. Anything is better than PJ Walker & DTR; let's make sure we are prepared for that next year.

Lovely game. Browns D was perfect. Held the Cards to the lowest yards since 1955.

Watson looked sharper. He may work out.

not sure how to find out but would be interesting to see how often it has happened in the last 10 years
