The thread is dead... it's basically me,you and 3 Ball. I wonder what there is to discuss there..throw me some topics to think about.

Give me some tasks bro so we can get that shit going again.

Okogie and Melton. Big-time sleepers or nah?

Jaren Jackson's jumpshot. It's time to start overanalyzing that shit and second guessing back and forth for the next two months.

Fucking monster game for Musa last week with 36 points, 10 assists, and 8 boards in Croatian league play. Are we back on that bandwagon or not?

I'm going to throw a name out there that I think is more realistic now than it was at the beginning of the season, and also because it seems more realistic than some of the other options being thrown around: Devin Booker.

Booker is on the record now saying he's not missing the playoffs again next year. Well, I have to think the Suns aren't delusional enough to think they'll make the playoffs barring some crazy moves. I also can't imagine Booker has built up enough clout with that fan base that they'll revolt if they trade him. He's due for a big extension, and the Suns may feel that it's simply not worth it. The Cavs could send Phoenix the 8th pick and Rodney Hood as a cheaper replacement. The Suns would have two top-10 picks, Jackson, Warren, Hood, Bender. They could potentially grab Ayton and Young. Ayton, Young, Jackson, Warren, Hood is a pretty good starting 5 for a young team.

Why would the Cavs do it? Well, Booker has proven to be a very good scorer on and off the ball. He has drastically improved his playmaking chops (go look at his 3rd year numbers compared to Kyrie, and they compare super favorably). He's also a knockdown shooter. He's not a great defender, but that hasn't really stopped them before. He's also only 21 years old, which a pretty serious injection of youth on a team that sorely needs it.

And the only reply about it.

I like the out of the box thinking, but I would argue that unless we have someone truly handling the offense from a coach perspective Booker probably looses value as a second option. You need a real sharp offensive mind that can have action running to one side while Lebron is reading the defense.

My second concern would be that he is close to Kyrie. I recall Kyrie mentioning texting him on Road Trippin at some point.

Lastly he is on a rookie deal. Its super cap friendly for one more season. They could overpay a few guys for that one year of winning to stabilize the culture before they max him out. Similar to what Philly did this year by paying guys like Roddick & Ilyasova.

Love his game. I think he would be fantastic next to Lebron. He is on every billboard out there, it is going to be tough. Id argue it would be more difficult to acquire him than some of the big names we all discuss.

How would you stack Booker compared to CJ McCollum, Brad Beal, and Paul George as potential options moving forward long-term? How do you see Booker's role developing in a Finals series against Golden State?

Yes, same question Czvo, but in regards to

Middleton

I responded the way I did for two reasons:

1. I've never seen you post once in the political threads, or anywhere else for that matter, about your political beliefs. If anything, you totally "stick to sports" in this sports forum. So how would you be considered an outspoken conservative?

2. Your post implies that outspoken conservatives are banned from this forum, which isn't close to true.

And if you do get banned, which I see no reason for at this point, it's because you won't shut the fuck up about Jevon Carter.
Lol gotcha, maybe I’ll check out the political forums soon. Thanks for the heads up. Little tibit regarding JC other than leading the nation in steals this season with 111, forcing a steal on 4.7 percent of his possessions and becoming the first player in college basketball history to reach 1500 points, 500 rebounds, 500 assists and 300 steals. I’m not sure I mentioned he also ranked in the top 5 in defensive win shares with 2.7.

In terms of how gettable they are? For that, I have no answer. In terms of my preference? I'd probably go PG, CJ, Booker, Beal.

As for his role in a Finals series? I have a hard time projecting that since I don't think making the Finals is a guarantee anymore. The East is just better, and it's clear trying to "outtalent" teams just won't work. This team has to spend the season developing good habits on both ends, and it's really up to LeBron whether or not he wants to put that kind of work in.

As for Middleton @The Wizard of Moz, I like him, but I think he would have similar troubles with GS that Love does. He's not super quick, and his game seems to rely too much on the mid-range (not that that's a Love problem). Maybe that would change on a team that hunts three pointers like the Cavs do. I don't know.
