Welcome Emoni Bates

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Though it's only one sample, I was at the game last night (Charge). While Emoni no doubt has a fine shooting touch, and actually pretty decent handle for his height, etc... plus I think he sees things fairly well. Basically everything else in his game is just not there at all. He's kind of slow, not particularly aggressive, comes off kind of "lazy" getting to spots etc... and in particular on defense basically shows no skills at all. I'm not sure if it was just an off night, but I didn't see an NBA player (yet at least). He needs to speed up a lot, and just be a lot more aggressive on both ends, imo. By aggressive, I don't mean wild or anything like that, but I mean try to "stay on" 100% of the time he's on the floor. Be engaged and in the moment all that stuff.

It was cool seeing the shoot around, where he barely misses, even "stupid" shots. So no doubt an elite skill there. But I'd almost be shocked if he's even ready next year.
What do you mean? I've heard several of our experts here declare Niang/Wade/Okoro/whoever needs to be yanked from the floor so we can get this star onto the floor. They can't all be wrong, can they?

Good point. Ignore my comment, he'd be top 5 in the league if JB just gave him a chance.

It must've been an off night cause when I watch him in person (4x with the Charge this season) he's never come off as slow or lazy. At all.

Watching the Charge game-I think Bates has gained some muscle mass.

Emoni Bates and Sam Merrill were side by side in three point shooting in the Summer League. Both finished in the top 3 in terms of volume/percentage if I recall.

Emoni is taking 10 (!) a game at 41 percent (!) from distance in the G-League.
He's shooting 60 (!!) percent from the left corner (1.3 per game). He's shooting 38.8 percent outside of the corners on ... 8.4 (!) attempts per game.

When Emoni becomes more disciplined and consistent on defense (changing approach on angles taken/stance for example) with some added girth, when the rotation opportunity arises... Imagine him and Merrill on the NBA court together.

Lights out. Orbit generators.

If this comes to fruition, you're not beating the Cavs.

I think Sam can be a rotation player at least into his mid 30s, so I'm not worried about the window of opportunity here.

During some of Emoni's last minutes played with the Cavs, I was impressed with him dropping dimes and playing in the flow of things. He just entered his 20s a week and a half ago.

I read all of this, and all I take out of it if Emoni adds some girth it will help his D?

All part of the plan for the Cialis Cavs.

Why do you think they call one of the mascots 'Sir CC'?

The sponsorship patch is next up after Goodyear and Cliffs.

Cavs are so deep right now they can let Emoni stay on the charge for this year and even possibly next. It will be good for Emoni in the long run as it will keep him hungry and allow him to spend time eating, lifting and stretching.

When do you think he starts to learn Chinese?
