I thought Williams played well. Thought he would have made sense last year with no wings.
Chriss is worse IMO
I think Williams would have worked with the team last year too. He was able to guard 2 thru 4 and if he keep shooting 40%, he could have been useful as a big wing paired with Jeff Green and LBJ.
For this team though, Chriss makes more sense just because the light might come on with him and he might hit his ceiling. I think for Derrick Williams, he is who he is at this point. If Williams had a full year with the Cavs he might have turn into what Jeff Green is for the wizards now. I think Green realized the little changes he needed to make to be a solid role player in the league, which started with consistently making a 3 pt shot.
I'm not sure Chriss can ever guard 2 thru 4 like Green or Williams. He is basically a pure PF defensively right now. I think for him to be useful, he will need to either be able to guard centers or SFs to increase his versatility. He has to keep hit 3 pointers too.
