Back from the game...
-Got my first look of the new outside of the Big House. It looks pretty sweet, at least at night.
-Crisler is kind of a dump. Not sure how many people it holds, but it was fairly sparsely populated outside of the lower bowl.
-There were a lot of OSU fans there.
-The UM chants are much lamer at basketball games than football games. I hate them at football games too, but at least they have more effect when that many people are doing them.
-The UM dance squad was painful to watch...and not because of their looks. Even UM fans around us apologized for their efforts.
-There was a group of about 20 middle school aged kids with their chests painted for the good guys. They were having a blast.
-Did the refs seem as bad on tv as they did in person?
-I found it amusing that Hungry Howie's Pizza is the official pizza of the Michigan athletic department. Someone next to me said they signed a 6 year deal or something like that right before Brandon came aboard.
-UM put a lot of effort in taking Sullinger out of the game, but I could still see so many times where JS had great position and the perimeter guys just didn't pull the trigger on getting him the ball.
-Some of the UM guys were just on fire in the first half, hitting shots regardless of the defense.
-Why didn't the Bucks try to post up someone besides Sully? I have to believe that Lighty or Thomas could have abused UM down low. UM looked so much smaller than OSU from where I was sitting. Lighty took his man off the block once and had a nice and easy 4 footer in the lane, then never went back to that.
-Lighty has no movement in his lower body on his FTs. That has to play a part in his inefficiency at the line.
-Sully fouling out was pretty weak, but his one foul out by the three point line against the UM big man was a bad freshman mistake.
-I took a look around and couldn't believe how many people had their faces in their mobile devices...and during game action. How bad is our collective attention spans that we need to check our email and the web every 5 minutes?
-I made it a point to get to see this team live once this year and am glad I did. I like this collective unit and am excited to see how they embrace being the new #1 team in the land.
