"We're 28-10, we're good."

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Last night was a perfect storm. We had a chance to gain an entire game on both Boston and Orlando in one single night. Not only that, but Denver was without 'Melo and Ty Lawson. I'm sorry, but if that doesn't motivate you to play well and get that huge win then I don't know what will.

Delonte was just about as bad as it gets last night. I'm having a hard time counting how many times he played turnstyle D. His head was just not in the game. The worst part is we made Kenyon Martin look like a number one pick again.

I agree with the defense. It seemed like he didn't slow them down enough to allow the help to be there.

Offensively, I think it has alot to do with Lebrons fascination of the iso style. I don't think everyone played passive because they weren't into it. I think it was a direct result of Lebron. If Lebron is being unselfish then everyone else plays more aggressive offensively.

Lebron passed on giving up the ball to a wide open Delonte numerous times while Delonte was on the perimeter. I don't think Lebron trusts Delonte that much at this point for whatever reason.

I'm beginning to think Lebron cares about this stats (points, assists, rebounds) more than we would really want him to care about them. Lebron seems to want that assist. He doesn't pass it enough to get the hockey assist (2nd assist..or even the 3rd). Like when a player is open not necessarily to score, but to create. In order for the Cavs to win a championship, he has to be able to pass when his pass isn't necessarily a pass to get him a stat. I know a lot of times his pass or situation it is benecial for the team to do what he does, but sometimes its not. Last night it wasn't. He should have realized that. West specifically had space to create for others. Lebron when he gives it west he usually stays out the picture which is probably to just allow Delonte more space, but I think sometimes he should be cutting/picking and then Lebron could actually get the ball back after Mo/West creates ie playing off the ball.

The interesting thing about people saying we need an inside scorer is that we had one last night. His name was Shaquille O'Neal and he shot 80%. He just sat on the bench almost the entire second half for reasons nobody really understands.

If Anthony Parker feeds him the pass when he should, he has 4 fouls and is at the line or has 2 more pts.

Shaq had position for 5 seconds, Parker didn't even pass it to him.

I didn't catch most the game, so I could be wrong. But I'd guess he sat much of the 2nd half due to his 5 fouls?

Mo Williams no free throw attempts. That is your stat of the night. I know he has been good against the elites this year, but that stat right there should scare the hell out of everybody. Your #2 scoring option has to be able to get to the foul line on nights when their shot isn't dropping.

Paging Antawn Jamison...

Yeah he got 4 and 5 within minutes and didn't go back in after that.

we did that to him with the Charlotte game too. Last night was a terrible performance all around. We let that game get out of hand too early, we let KMART go ape shit in the first quarter, we felt the need to try to run a hurry up, west coast style play when that isn't our game, and the first quarter was just horrid. Then, we clamped down defensively in the second quarter, only allowing 18 point....awesome, 1 point lead at the half. Then it just was LeIso and put a fork in us were done. The offense is built around LeBron but needs to go through Shaq first otherwise we establish no inside presence.

You're correct. I'm not sure why he wasn't used until he got his 6th though. We really needed him at many points in the fourth. He could have gone in and broke our scoring droughts a few times there.

The reffing that game really borked Shaq, unfortunately. He was getting calls simply for being stronger than Birdman.

The Cavs need another player who can score 15+ PPG on a consistent basis, someone that LeBron can trust to get points without him. Don't care what anyone else says. That's what this is about.

End of story.

If I could have a penny for every time I've said that the past few years to different people. You are exactly right. If we get that guy, we put ourselves in the best position to advance to the Finals and win it. If we don't, same old story different year...

I do agree with you that we need another scorer, but at the same time, with the team we currently have at the moment, I think Shaq could score around 15 a night if we actually gave him the damn ball.

Last night he was in foul trouble (thanks for leaving him in with 4 fouls MB), but in games where everyone is struggling and LBJ is just going LeIso every play, GIVE SHAQ THE BALL EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. It is so annoying that we brought him in here and we still do not know how to use the guy. If we are struggling on offense, give the ball to Shaq and play off him. At least TRY it. If it doesn't work, go back to LeIso fade aways with 2 seconds left on the clock (Ill take my chances with playing off Shaq).

We're still not going to beat the good teams if LeBron has a sub-par game. The refs did make some very bad calls at the end, when it looked like we could have got away with a win, but LeBron played poorly. He has yet to give consistent effort on defense in the half court. We should have gotten the ball to Shaq more, and the 5th foul was bullshit, but it still comes down to defense. Actually, it's been the defense of LeBron, Mo, and Shaq that have been disappointments to me. Heck, we had to put Parker on Billups, and then Afflalo gets a three point play on Mo. That, and the carelessness (mostly from LeBron and Mo) at the offensive end equals a loss, to a Denver team that's still pretty good without Melo. Now you are 0-1, and you have a back to back Sunday/Monday, where splitting that would put you at 1-2 on the roadtrip, not feeling so good. We can win both games, but it will be tough. Get it to Shaq on Sunday. Oh, and let's make our free throws.

Last I checked Antawn Jamison was spot up shooting forward that can't play a lick of D.

So that helps our guard problem how?

How many games have you actually watched, full games, of Jamison and the Wizards? You're probably like me, if that, in that you've seen all the games we've played the Wiz in the playoffs and the regular season the last few years.

We need another scorer on this team, that is for sure. And 'tawn has averaged 5.5 FTAs per game the last 3 season, Mo has averaged 3 FTAs per game.

The point of redscoon's post is that we need another scoring option, and that if a guy like Jamison's shot is off, he can still work inside (he is rather crafty around the basket with his quick floaters). Mo does not have an inside game, because he's a PG, but he's not even attempting to get to the lane and finish.
