What are your thoughts on Fransisco Garcia?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Would you give up Green and Gibson to get him or would you prefer we stand pat with Green?

No... that would be too much to give up. It's close to equal value, but Gibson's value is very low. We're giving Gibson a year to rebound from this season.

I'd like to see what we have out of Danny Green before we let him go. He's already in Cleveland working out and seems poised to crack the rotation.

Garcia is okay....his contract isn't terrible....but it's not great. Similar to the deal Boobie Gibson got, but slightly higher with a team option tacked on the end of it.

Garcia at 6-7 is probably a little more valued than Gibson, but Gibson is 4 years younger.

I'm not sure Garcia is quite able to handle playing the 1....more of just a wing guy.

If the Cavs are lucky, Danny Green might be able to turn into a player like Garcia....although I don't think Green can score like Garcia can....but has a better all-around game.

This is the exact feeling I have. Green is an unkown and could crack the rotation and I believe Boobie will rebound EXTREMELY well from last year. I am praying he can finally avoid injuries. He showed last year at the begining he had an effective mid-range game and floater to compliment his 3 point shooting ala Eddie House. However his game was limited to spot up 3s when he returned. I'm sure he is envisioning all the open shots Shaq will open up for him in addition to The King.

Actually I thought he showed exactly the contrary. He tried to do the whole floater thing (in attempts to copy CP3), and failed miserably every time. At one point I remember seeing LeBron watch Boobie go up for a floater, and he immediately crashed the board because he knew a miss was coming, and went to scoop it up and throw it down. So it did turn out to be a good play in the end... but for the wrong reasons. He anticipated the miss because he saw each one of the floaters before that clang off the front of the rim...

Confidence was a huge factor for Boobie, his thunder was stolen when we got Mo, and he turned into what Boobie was supposed to be, and I don't think that he's going to recover...

His second year injuries really set him back. I hope he can rebound but he's not really in the environment to do so when you have Mo Williams and Delonte West in front of you.

So if you can convince Sacramento to take the future Mo Williams for Garcia, please do! Garcia would be a perfect backup wing. It all depends on how bad Beno Udrih is.

Martin is still the face of the franchise in Sacramento. He isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Then why draft someone like Tyreke Evans who plays the exact same position when the Kings have a glaring need at PG and both Rubio and Flynn were available? Look at Martin's contract, injury history and the little the Kings have been able to do even when he's on the court and tell me again why he's so impossible to move?

BTW, I grew up in Sacramento, went to high school there and have countless freinds who all are Kings fans and many agree that the kings would move Martin if the right deal came along.

Again, injury history and contract play a huge role. Now add to the fact that the Kings attendance has been putrid even with him there and the economy in Sacramento blows so those attendance figures are likely to get worse before they get better.

It's really not out of the question.

Well...let's not have short memories. 2 years ago Gibson showed that he could be more than just a spot up shooter.

Let's remember the guy was hurt. Hopefully that explains his struggles....

He would be a great fit right now if Delonte is out for awhile.

You quoted something I posted 3 months ago, long before the draft.

Even so, Martin is still the franchise player in Sacramento at this point regardless of what any "friends" have to say. Maybe you weren't aware but at Memphis, Tyreke Evans played point guard. Also, a lot of teams prefer to draft who they feel is the best player available regardless of what wholes they might have. Sam Bowie ring a bell?

I have been paying attention to Garcias game and lets just say that he earns what he deserves at the moment. Great player.

imo, martin would look awesome in the cavs starting 5, with delonte coming off the bench. he's the michael redd we've been looking for here to really stretch the court. no way that we have enough to get him though.

Can there even be such thing as a "Franchise" player for the Kings? I mean they are going to be moving in like 2 years anyway.

The big problem is that Garcia is BYC....so it's almost impossible to balance a trade between the cavs and kings

No way we get Garcia!!! Sacramento can get a lot more from another team, if they choose to move him. We aren't even in the discussion for FG.
