I was thinking about this year's draft and the potential of next year's and started to get excited. I'd love to get two quality picks this year and a scorer next year. Who would everyone want in our starting 5 in terms of building a core starting this upcoming season? I know I said dream starting 5 but let's make it a bit realistic.
Scenario 1 (we don't get the no. 2 pick this year or D-Will doesn't fall)
2012-2013 Season
C- Enes Kanter
PF- JJ Hickson
SF- Harrison Barnes
SG-Christian Eyenga
PG-Kyrie Irving
Scenario 2 (we somehow nab both Irving and D-Will this year)
2012-2013 Season
C- Not sure!
PF- Derrick Williams
SF- Harrison Barnes (or if we don't suck enough to get him, Michael Gilchrist, P. Jones, or T. Jones)
SG-Christian Eyenga
PG-Kyrie Irving
We'd have a C and PF who I think can average a double double, a scoring SF, a SG who plays D and can shoot, and a pure PG in Irving. A team like this could be great after 2 years or more playing together.
