I think we need a true low post player to finally get that championship. we need one to maintain wallaces great defense while being able to score on the block. i dont think we can be as dominant with a bad defender down low. so players like jamison, lee, harrington, ect just wouldnt work. apperently wally has said if hes traded he will seek a buyout and return to the cavs (said a few times on another forum, is it true?) so thats why i think we should go after a low post defensive pf.

heres my list of who i think we should realistically(somewhat) go after.

i dont want to go after jamison type players.

Go after:
1: Emeka Okafor (would really like to get him)(MJ's a really terrible GM, so it might be possible
2: Chris wilcox (good athlete to run with the team)
3: Collison (good low post player)
cant think of others right now, you list some.

there really isnt alot of low post players that are somewhat available right now, but i think bobcats are regretting the okafor signing and could potentially deal him for an expiring + more.

couple trades ive come up with:
Wally(buyout and return) + AV (Theve wanted him before) + rights to sasha kaun + 2 first round picks for Okafor + Bell

wally + 1st for wilkens + wilcox (or collison)

for okafor trade, roster:

Mo Will/ Delonte/ Kinsey
Bell/ Boobie/ Pavs
Lebron/ Wally/ Jawad
Okafor/ JJ/ Jackson
Big Z/ Big Ben/ Wright

Pretty scary considering its a much more balenced roster (Same defense, more rebounding, more versitile, more scoring, bell can gaurd 1 2 or 3 positions, okafor can gaurd pf and c. okafor meshes with big z's shooting range as he plays down low, more depth.

might be unrealistic but just throwing some ideas out there. your turn!

Well, after my wing player thread, I was going to do a post player thread. However, the problem is that we could go after a star post player OR just someone to provide depth. There are just way too many possibilities out there. I went through all the teams and here's the list of big men who could possibly be had:

Emeka Okafor
Nazr Mohammed
Sean May
Dirk Nowitzki
Erick Dampier
DeSagana Diop
K-Mart
Ronny Turiaf
Chuck Hayes
Rasho Nesterovic
Jeff Foster
Chris Kaman
Marcus Camby
Darko Milicic
Hakim Warrick
Mark Blount
Udonis Haslem
Charlie Villanueva
Josh Boone
Sean Williams
David Lee
Chris Wilcox
Nick Collison
Joe Smith
Samuel Dalembert
Reggie Evans
Theo Ratliff
Brad Miller
Mikki Moore
Chris Bosh
Andrei Kirilenko
Antawn Jamison
Etan Thomas

There's such a range, from veteran depth players to young stars, I have no idea where to start.

I really don't want Chris Wilcox. His defense is just like Gooden's. He has a low basketball IQ and is slow on rotations. There's a reason he's only getting 21 minutes a game on the THUNDER.

Collison is also another player who it's not like WOW, WE GOT NICK COLLISON! CHAMPIONSHIP!! He's just a depth big man, which could be useful over the next year or two with Ben and Z. However, I wouldn't give up a first for him, and Damien Wilkins is garbage.

Mdog, since you're reading this post, do you think I should do another analysis type thread with the post players? Maybe I could do one with only the impact players and leave out all the depth guys?

Knock Bosh off your list. I live in Canada and the GM has said a lot that he is not trading CB4.

I would really like to get Okafor and Bell together. That improves us so much, and i'd be willing to give up JJ if they didn't want Shaka's rights.

Well I did like the other thread, but dude it is 12 don't spend that much time on it. It ain't that important. Or if you do want to do one it would be great to just list a few qualities, or just link people to a site that has players bio's or a description of them. So yes I think you should do another one, just don't spend as much tinme on it.

Actually now that I thik about it there might already be a thread created in TS somewhere.

Haha, thanks. I wouldn't do it tonight. I'd try tomorrow. Also, can anyone help me into how to post an excel spreadsheet on here? It'd make things a LOT easier.

Why not Tyrus Thomas, from what I can tell he likes Big Ben and we probably could develop him better than the "bench method" development he's receiving from the Bulls.

Larry Hughes and TT for Wally? Anybody?

jk...not really

Emeka Okafor
Erick Dampier
Kenyon Martin
Chris Kaman
Marcus Camby
Andrei Kirilenko
Antawn Jamison
Brad Miller
Samuel Dalembert
Nick Collison
David Lee
Chris Wilcox
Udonis Haslem
Charlie Villanueva

I think I've trimmed the list of big men I'm going to go in depth on to this. I'd like to cut out at least 2, maybe 4 more, getting the list down to 12 or 10. Any ideas who I should cut out?

By the way, this means that I've cut out...

Dirk Nowitzki
Nazr Mohammed
Sean May
DeSagana Diop
Ronny Turiaf
Chuck Hayes
Rasho Nesterovic
Jeff Foster
Darko Milicic
Hakim Warrick
Mark Blount
Josh Boone
Joe Smith
Sean Williams
Reggie Evans
Theo Ratliff
Mikki Moore
Chris Bosh
Etan Thomas

Most of these players are either depth players, no-brainers, or people I just can't see us getting. If you want me to put any of these back into the list of post players for me to do my analysis on, let me know.

Also, I figured out a way to post my excel spreadsheets, so look for one of both offense and defense to appear in my next thread.

Turiaf, Nazr and Darko probably belong because they might be real options for us, not exciting but real options. K-mart, Camby, and Jamison can probably be taken out as I am not sure they are options.

Joe Smith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Joe gets traded to another team can we then trade for him or would he still have to receive a buyout

out of the bunch give me kaman or brad miller or bring back joe smith if he is bought out

Just bring back Joe Smith. He can shoot, he can score in the low-post, he can rebound. He knows the team, teams love him, fans love him! Pleaaseee!!!

Can kamen play any PF?

thats the thing about okafor, he can play pf or c

I would love okafor, but i dont think he is available. Kamen I am sure could play a bit at pf. If we somehow got him, there are 20 mins of backup duty behind Z that he could have all of, playing both Z and Kamen at the same time for 5-8 mins a game could be interesting...plus Z isnt going to be around for ever, and sooner than later Z will be a less than 20 min a game guy like Zo or Mutumbo were late in their careers. This would be a huge move for our future, and a decent move for our present. How nice would Kamen look now with Z out a few games?
