The next step is to put down the crack pipe. There is a better chance of Michael Jordan coming out of retirement, signing with the Cavs for the MLE, and leading us to 6 NBA titles, than there is of Dwyane Wade ever playing for the Cavs.

i have said it in many threads but I will say it again. We are going to have to overpay to get a big name in here via sign and trade. Pay him more money then the home team is willing to find a guy who does not care about playing in a big market. Bosh and Wade are OUT. None of the big names are likely.
Who is possible that we could over pay and pull off a sign and trade that will avg 20 pts and 6 boards and be an above average defender who is still growing as a player?

Wade is not happening in a million years. I say Bosh has a 1-2 percent chance of happening.
Joe Johnson is a distant chance. Amare is either going to go back to Phx or signing with Miami.
Lets take a look at who else could possibly come. CP3 is not being traded.
Besides Gay, who said he only cares about who wants him the most (aka will give him the max) the only other big name player that is semi doable is infact Carlos Boozer. Wine and Gold has told us he has tried to get back here before, plus he will be looking for a landing spot if Amare goes to Miami to play for Wade.
Right now I would say Boozer and Gay are the most realistic. The reality is it is going to be very hard to get anyone of these guys.

Yup and that's the problem with all this, we can sign THE biggest FA but what can we offer besides his old team? Gay or Booz? Well not really a good selling point. Sigh. Even if he commits to us on July first, chances of Joe or Bosh coming here are almost none.

cp3 could get traded. If Lebron decides to stay, he could force a trade. I am not saying its likely, but cp3 hasnt been happy in NOLA for awhile now. Rumors have us interested in Byron, Lebron is his best friend in the NBA, etc. We will just have to see. I do agree that Gay is more realistic, but i think its 50/50 right now that CP3 gets traded somewhere, 5% chance maybe that its cleveland. I also think we could have a decent shot at Joe Johnson. Still say NY is his most likely destination paired with boozer, but it could happen.

I think Chris Paul is still a fantasy right now, they'll deal Collison and one of their large contracts for a nice player and make a run next year. But I think if the Cavs hired Scott and he and LeBron had alot of success, there's always next year if Paul feels like changing teams.

I'd actually agree that Gay is the most realistic as long as the Grizzlies won't match the max money and years on his contract. And Joe Johnson seems realistic, he could follow LeBron wherever as long as he gets his money.

well obv the cavs wouldnt do that trade.

but you should realize that it is mutually beneficial to work out a positive situation for all 3 parties. cavs get draft picks and/or talent and/or cap relief. lebron gets more money. the bulls get lebron and a happy lebron bc he is getting paid more.

i think its ludicrous to let lebron walk without exploring the possibility of improving the team.
