Where are the Byron Scott era players now

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Actually the 2009 draft had a bunch of good players.

Taj Gibson at 26
Demarre Carrol at 27
Danny Green at 46 (oops)
Patty Mills at 55

The purpose of my post was to point out the lack of quality choices at pick 30. I have no interest in calling the 2009 draft a "bad draft," it wasn't. However, for a few seasons the Eyenga pick was held up as a travesty when there wasn't a lot to choose from. I myself started following St. Mary's basketball locally when Mills was their offensive focal point, so you don't have to point him out to me. :fnd (2):

Gotcha I thought you were saying that the 2009 draft was weak. Yeah there was nothing at 30.

I always liked Eyenga

Think a lot of overseas athletes fall into a trap where they take too long to play VS American talent. If I remember Christian came to us at about 19 or 20. I think in today's NBA that's too old to come to the NBA thinking your gonna be worth shit in the next 6-7 years. These overseas athletics monsters gotta start coming to America EARLY. Like high school and college. Guys are simply too good in the NBA to think your gonna do good in the same decade your drafted with only athletic ability.

But with that said Samuels came to America at 14 and still couldn't make it long term. But he was not built for the NBA at 6 foot 8 and he never learned the skilles to stick on a team.

I will say tho he and Manny gave us a fun season. I honestly thought they work out for some team somewhere. Guess I was right since both are big parts of their European teams

Christian Eyenga is averaging 10, 3, 2 for DINAMO BANCO DI SARDEGNA SASSARI

So he lives on a Mediterranean island and makes probably a couple hundred thousand euros a year. He's not going for the NBA title, but this doesn't look too bad

It's amazing how Varejao looks 1000x more douchey wearing those colors.
Can you imagine if Varejao has some flopping calls that cause the Cavs to lose the championship?

All those players listed but Samardo start for their teams so they have had success. Crazy tho that we basically had a euroleague roster for Scotts tenure and he still coaches us with everything he had lol
He did?

I'd confidently say he mailed it in for a good chunk of his tenure.

At this rate if the Sixers were really committed to tanking they would hire Byron Scott.

It shows the age and tenure of many Cavs fans that when they think of a tank driving coach they think of Scott and not the greatest tank driver of all time John Lucas. Single most important member of the original LeBron tank.

I used to whoop his ass in 2k12 (might have been 11). He tweeted about adding him and he accepted my request. I shit on him with the Cavs and he would fuck around with the Lakers and Knicks. I should have known he was a dbag then.

He's still on my PS3 list. Think I played a few games against him myself.
