Iverson was being discussed on PTI, and the said there's no chance he's staying in Memphis. Wilbon said "I know where he's going, I already see him in a uniform, and it's not Charlotte with Larry Brown. It's the Cleveland Cavaliers, that's where they could use him. He could come off the bench and be happier about it than he is.. he would do it with LeBron and Shaq there and could win a ring."

I don't think Wilbon is right, but it is interesting with the Rudy Gay talk recently.

I know we had an Iverson thread in the offseason, and the general consensus was a big no. I don't see how he'd fit, especially with Boobie playing well and assuming Delonte works out his problems.

I would gladly take Iverson off their hands if it meant getting Rudy Gay too.

Then I would promptly release Iverson before his plane ever touched down in Cleveland.

At this point....all I care about is talent. With LeBron and Shaq on board.....bitching/shenanigans simply wouldn't fly. That's why I'm all in favor of adding talent like Stephen Jackson and Allen Iverson.

I'm not sure where the playing time would come if we added AI, but I'm almost entirely in favor of adding him if it were to happen.

Crazy Delonte > AI (Always Insane)

That is pretty strange that Wilbon thinks Iverson would end up here. I honestly think that Iverson would be upset coming off the bench anywhere whether it's here, Charlotte or with any other team in the NBA. That's just the type of guy he's been conditioned to be. He spent his whole career as a starter and I think his ego took a huge hit at the end of last season with Detroit. It's taking an ever bigger hit in Memphis since that team is horrible and he doesn't even start there. That speaks volumes about his talent, at least in my opinion. If you can't start for Memphis, you probably don't have much left in the tank. Combine his failing skills with his deplorable attitude and that's a guy I wouldn't want in my locker room.

theres not enough shots to go around for these 2 ballhogs

Normally I agree with a lot of the things Wilbon has said ... but this is plain ludicrous.

Iverson isn't comfortable coming off the bench no matter which team he's playing on, nor would he be motivated enough to play any sort of team defense.

Here's a quote from the other Iverson thread that SoundBreaker started a couple days ago.

He said he had no problems with his hamstring, but had a big problem with the playing time he got from coach Lionel Hollins.
''Go look at my resume and that will show you that I'm not a sixth man,'' Iverson said. ''I don't think it has anything to do with me being selfish. It's just who I am. I don't want to change what gave me all the success that I've had since I've been in this league.''

Does that sound like a guy who's willing to come off the bench, even if the team is a contender?

That's what I thought.

If it includes Gay. If the organization can handle the whole West problems, I'm sure they can handle AI. Now about minutes, I'll let him be a bench warmer till he can prove that he can play as a team. He could bitch all he wants but he wont get any minutes. Plus I think we can trade him to Philly. They need someone like him and he needs a team to ball hog at

Even if he wouldn't mind coming off the bench, I don't want him here..

I just don't want him, especially if it would mean less playing time for Mo, Delonte, Boobie, Parker, and indirectly, even J.J (adding another guard would probably cause us to go small more often to fit in minutes).

Count me in as a HELL NO

I don't think it has anything to do with me being selfish. It's just who I am.

Probably the most hilarious quote I've ever seen.

Does he even think before he speaks?

I dont give a shit about Allen Iverson... If it got me Rudy Gay in a trade then I will deal with him and figure it out

we could always buy him out in a week if he was that much of an issue as he is only on a 1 year deal and its not like Dan Gilbert wouldnt ut up the money to get rid of that kind of distraction...

Man I am really stating to wonder if Chris Wallace is dumb enough to give us Rudy Gay if we take Jaric and possibly AI??? Rudy Gay is a baller
