Wild Rumor/Pure Speculation: Dolan Received 15 Mil Loan from MLB

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Bruce has done time. He'll cut you, man.

Yeah, I'm really scared of a gambler, and someone who lied to the IRS. Be more scared of Chuck. Why do you think it's called "Last Call"? ;)

I think I am in the minority, but I actually like Manning. I honestly feel like I've learned different aspects of the game from him. He can be a bit repetitive, but part of that is the nature of the job, especially in when you are doing 162 games (or almost) for about 3 hours a game. I know he isn't your typical homer, but I feel like he just tries to be professional and objective. It's all preference, some fans like to feel like their guys in the booth are cheering right along with them, me I don't really care. I prefer a knowledgeable crew who can read the game. Manning reads the game exceptionally well in my opinion.

Not hating on you, like I said it's all a matter of preference.

I agree with you on Manning. I think he's excellent. He obviously knows the game in and out.

Underwood's problem is he simply doesn't have the voice or the gravitas, if you will. It's as if he never hit puberty.

And your last line actually tells me we probably agree on this. The Indians never had fans from the 60's to the mid-90's and then had a 6-7 year stretch of great support. The anomoly is the great support, not the crappy support in recent years.

The anomoly is the great baseball, really.

I don't think anyone is arguing that we'll just sell the place out night in and night out like we did in the '90s. But I do think a consistent stretch of winning- meaning, more than one season amid several of mediocrity- will bring more fans out.

Maybe my frustration is more that in the current system, sustained winning is extremely difficult for a small-market team (unless you are the Rays who sucked for 10 years to stockpile talent, or the Twins who haven't won a playoff game in years). So I see the average fan complaining about the results of a team that haven't really been that bad in the scope of what can be expected.

I guess I see average fans direct anger at the front office and ownership, when a lot of that anger should be directed at the entire MLB system.

More fans is a very general term...

Tampa Bay is bringing out 'more fans'...still ranking toward the bottom of the league in attendance despite three seasons of competitiveness.

There really isn't much evidence which shows the Indians can support a team to the tune of 30,000 per night.....And quite frankly, they've had to beg, borrow and plead to get fans out there with ticket deals and special offers that they're probably only going to see minimal gains from it.

Not sure why people think it's only about winning....taking a look around baseball and especially the current state of Cleveland leads me to believe otherwise.

Nothing says sane and stable like indiscriminate hatred for people you've never met.

I have an indiscriminate hatred for Kyra Sedgwick and I've never met her, she makes me want to go on a rampage whenever I hear her speak. Damn TNT.

Have Pyro write a letter to Ted Turner....I'm sure it will start the countdown to her demise.

I feel like a brain trust of Pyro, DougHeil and ManCalledX could get pretty much anything done if given access to a computer and a forum on which to communicate with one another.

Every front office/telecast/radio show receives dozens of these emails a day.

I can assure you, the workers will more or less just show disdain towards your email as they file it away with the rest of the unstable people with nothing better to do than write and attack TV personalities.

As they should.

So....'grats on being 'that guy.'

Mazel tov.

As goofy as it sounds...he's right. Manning is a clown. They may not read it on air or agree with it, but it doesn't make him any less correct. My main complaint is the same as Corey's. I feel every time I watch the Indians it's just 2 hours of Manning sucking the other team's nads. I didn't hear this whole thing about Cabrera's HR, but if what Corey says is true and Manning was acting that way, that's pretty bad.

Manning was being kind of a prick about it, saying it wasn't a homer as if that was the end of the discussion. They both acted shocked after it was overturned. Even my mom, who knows nothing aout baseball, was calling them morons for not admitting it was a homer.

Underwood's FB page BLEW UP with comments after it was ruled a HR. I left one parting shot, telling everyone to mute the TV and turn the radio on, so they could hear professionals call the game, then I un-liked his page.

Maybe this team should have more than two winning seasons in a decade. Maybe they should try having winning seasons in back-to-back years. Then we'll see.

Whoa man.

You totally pwned him.

Weird, because when I saw the replay it looked blatantly obvious it was an HR. Not ... really sure what they were surprised about?
