According to a person familiar with the Knicks' thinking, the club will explore trading Wilson Chandler, possibly packaging him with the expiring contract of Eddy Curry. The Knicks would love to trade for a premier outside-shooting big man. New York Post

Chandler, who has had ankle surgery two straight offseasons, has a contract the Knicks likely will move to be enough under the 2011 salary cap for a maximum contract. The addition of versatile forward Anthony Randolph and swingman Kelenna Azubuike makes Chandler more expendable for a roster lacking size. The Knicks don't believe Chandler can handle shooting-guard duties. New York Post

Would the Knicks go for an Antawn Jamison for Curry/Chandler deal, now that they expect to make some noise in the East? Chandler would fill our much needed SF position. Decent all around player. Restricted free agent next year.

Or, we could trade Delonte for him straight up to give the Knicks that cap space.

Saw this too and immediately thought Antawn Jamison when it said they'd love a premier outside-shooting big man.

Doesn't make a lot of sense for them because though because they already have Amare and Randolph at PF.

Mike is their coach

We see Amare and Randolph, and think Power Forward
Mike sees Amare and Randolph, and tihink Center :chuckles:

Get it done Ferr..err Grant!!!With Donny Walsh we could probably swap picks with them too.

True, he'll probably play Amare at Center. Can't really blame him when his other options are Eddy Curry and Ronny Turiaf.

You can have Jamison if we take Chandler and Curry off your hands only if we get a first round pick too for the hassle. Only after we make a hard push for Igoudala. Isn't Curry a free agent after this year?

Interesting player. Would Delonte work for him straight up? If so I think they could be interested in that, they seem willing to cut salary again to go after Melo next year in free agency so with Delontes contract being an expiring/unguaranteed it could be very valuable to them.

I would do Jamison/Moon for Curry/Chandler/Pick. We get rid of Antawn's contract for cap relief and a young player.

NY just signed the foreign C Mozgov to to about 3mil a year, in addition to acquiring Amare, Randolph, and Turiaf, so I don't know if they'll want to take on another big with a huge contract. It's NY and Dantoni though, so anything's possible.

Chander is a perfect player in D'Antoni system and his value is inflated because of it..

Take him out of there and he's really not any better than your average forward in the NBA...

We can get better packages for Jamison than Chandler & Curry... We could do worse but Chandler isn't my idea of someone we can build around..

The second I saw that we would have to take Curry in the deal is when I decided how much I would hate it...

I'm glad I don't have to hate the Knicks anymore after all the years of trying to get LePippen. I think they'll be pretty fun to watch with Randolph/Amare, I think Jamison would be a great 6th man for them. Pretty happy we will finally get to see if Randolph will ever pan out.

The thing with Curry's expiring contract is that we could then move that to Philly for someone like AI or to another team that is only concerned with cap relief. I'm not very familiar with Chandler's game, but Curry's contract could be a big chip to acquire someone else. That'd be an $11 mill expiring we could move to bring in other players along with the TPE.

We're not talking about Don Nelson here,Randolph does NOT play like a center at all,Amar'e can play there but he won't be starting there permanantly, especially with Turiaf there and Euro they brought over.

I think they could use Mo as a 6th man role,i think Chandler is too much for them to give up though.I don't see Jamison Being a viable option with Amar'e and Randolph there.
Idk what incentive they could add with Curry
