Hes on 1100 with him right now, Im not sure if this was played last night or anything, but he said that Barnes wants to play for the Cavs but we are not in contract talks with him.

That's the same predicament I find myself in currently.

Couldn't this info(that is barely interesting) been put in a Barnes thread?

Yeah, it's just good business. Ferry is going to see what else is out there. I'm sure that Ferry knows that Barnes is interested in the Cavs, so the Cavs FO is going to let him sit.

Until and unless some other championship contender makes a hard move at Barnes, Ferry isn't going to do anything right now. That's evidenced by the Cavs being in talks with Kurz. If any of the other championship contenders was pushing for Barnes I think that Ferry would then reel him in.

It's also prudent for Ferry to wait, see what comes available in the next few weeks. Sign Barnes and you know that he's coming off the bench. But there might come the opportunity to improve at starting guard or starting forward, and Ferry doesn't want to have to miss that because he jumped at the chance to sign Barnes.

Sometimes I don't get the Cavs.

Other than AP most of the FAs we have wanted screwed us over.

Now we have Matt Barnes who is expressing interest in us, but Ferry is acting like a high school girl that is playing hard to get. Matt Barnes would atleast provide valueable depth to our roster. If we sign him it doesn't necessarily mean he will play 25-30 minutes a game, but he has good league experience and is someone that would work on our roster I believe. We were looking for length on the perimeter after we lost to the Magic, and he fits that role quite well.

Barnes would probably accept the BAE to play here. Are you telling me instead of going with NBA talent we will count on a 30th pick that Ferry likely picked as an escape route to not have to sign another player to a contract... is that who we are going to turn to?

We still have money, yet we fail to use it on the more valuable pieces that are left. All Cleveland teams make the mistake of turning to the prospect, and it blows up in their faces. Before you know it Matt Barnes will sign on with Orlando and he will be one of the guys that destroys us in the playoffs. Who would have thought the same thing would have happened with Pietrus right?

Quit the act Ferry, just sign the better players on and quit relying on the crap out there like Sean May and Robert Kurz.

y'all just chill out. Danny has done more than anyone could have imagined with reconstructing this team and get players for what seems like nothing. This is why Danny is the GM and none of you are. I am sure that Danny probably has a priority list or some type of philosophy on how the team was going to attack the FA period. If there is one thing you can expect out of Ferry is that he will always stick to his guns and never back down from his plan. How do you think we ended up with MO, SHAQ, WEST, etc.. You are never going to get everyone you target. He is just making sure there are nothing that hasnt been overlooked. He is a very good GM and should be repected for what he has done for this team.

Chill. Some good vet players will get buy outs later in the off season. We could very well be very sorry we spent rest of the mle on Barnes. He is not all that...

Interview;nothing new

-Barnes-wants to play with CLE and is telling people that

-Kleiza-may just take the QO with Den,not enough money

-The cavs dont want to bury jj out of the rotation so they're kind are in a wait and see on him...They believe he still has potential since when he was given mins,he was producing other than that horrible LA game

-We made our MAJOR off-season moves in re-signing andy, trading for shaq and signing a wing-man in parker

Dam,we just need this last small piece in a stretch 4 and maybe strengthen our depth

Why would Kleiza take the QO? He is not going to play much in Denver so why would he think his value will go up much next year when all the premier players become FA and with the salary cap likely yo be lower rather than sign with a championship team like Cavs where he sell quality minutes.

Denver is a Championship team too

I remember when Barnes played here the year before Lebron, he wore 23. I got that practice jersey from him at that open practice they held at the Gund. We cut him like two days later, lol.
