According to a source, Zydrunas Ilgauskas is close to accepting a contract from the Miami Heat. The Cavs had an offer for Z on the table.

Even if he leaves, I will still have the same amount of respect for him. He stuck it out with the Cavs and didn't get a ring even though he deserves one.

Unfortunately, if he wins one, LeBUM also wins one
 
This will be viewed from a national perspective as a negative when it comes to our organization. However, as mentioned above, Z has earned the right to ring chase, although I'm a little surprised that - if he knows what we know about bron tanking - that he chooses to follow LeBron. I wonder if how we handled his franchise breaking game had anything to do with it.

Dude deserves a ring, though....it's a shame it probably won't be with the Cavs.
 
Z has worked hard to ring chase. But I hope he doesn't get one with the Heat.
 
It's sad though, partly because when the Cheat don't win it all they will blame it on Z and the other support staff, kinda like the Cavs. Sadly, I don't think he has much left in the tank

There's also something to be said about him having the biggest opportunity to make a contribution in Miami. They don't even have a center right now.
 
I honestly can't blame him.

Options:

A.) Return to Cavs and not win championship while playing 16 minutes a game.
B.) Retire.
C.) Go to Heat, likely start, and have very good shot at championship.

If the Heat are going to win it all, at least one player on the team will deserve it.

As I'm typing this I see his agent says he's going to Miami but plans to come back to the Cavs organization when he's retired. Class act, I wish him the best even though he's going to Miami.
 
Although I think it would be great to see Z win a ring it just sucks that our 2 centerpieces of this franchise over the last 10 or so years both flee in one off season to the cheats.They dont deserve a class act like Z.
 
I'm cringing at the thought of Z in another jersey. Best of luck to him though.

Fuck Lebron..this still hasn't been said enough.
 
I am really disappointed to see him on that team, but I still wish him the best and pray that when he retires there's a place for him our front office.
 
It is going to be extremely fucked up the first time the Heat play Cleveland and we see the two faces of the Cavs organization for how many years on the other team... Really fucked up...
