I really can't blame Tressel for not opening up the offense. He knows he has a great defense and a mental midget at QB. It's awful watching Pryor just stare down a receiver until the defender jumps in front of him as the balls in the air. It's ridiculous. He makes great throws sometimes and has an amazing arm but his decision making is at best a C-.
With that said, Tressel's playbook is too predictable and doesn't play to our strengths. I'm a firm believer in running the ball and ball control, but throwing on first down, running on 2nd down for 4 yards, and then an incompletion on 3rd down is not the way to win games. Hell, I'd prefer the old run the ball on 1st down, run the ball on 2nd, and throw on 3rd.
