Wizards fire Jordan after 1-10 start; Tapscott named as interim coach

Back to the drawing board then.

It looks like the leashes are a little shorter this year than in the past.

Wally and Andy for Caron and Antawn... PULL THE TRIGGER FERRY!

We should figure out a way to get Butler here. Surely there is some way to do it with Wally, Sasha, and a draft pick. The salaries don't work, so maybe a third team is needed. I wouldn't mind adding Blatche to the deal if possible, just to give us some backup at the 4/5 if needed. He's been decent for the Wiz with 6.7ppg in only 17 minutes. I think he could have a similar role on the Cavs.

Caron would be a very good fit at the SG. He can knock down open shots, create for himself, and plays very good D. I think he could give Kobe fits if we met the Lakers in the Finals.

Our 2-deep lineup would be:

Mo/Delonte
Butler/Gibson
LBJ/Butler
Ben/AV
Z/Blatche

And of course we would still have JJ for garbage minutes, as it's pretty clear he isn't ready for meaningful minutes yet, IMO.

If washington decides to blow it up, this fits the bill for what Charlotte and Cavs would do.

Why the hell would anyone give up Jamison AND Butler (not to mention a third player) for Wally and Nazr? You're deal would allow us to keep AV and have Gerald ****ing Wallace off the bench. I don't think any NBA team would allow that lqtm.

We would be ass-raping the Wizards in this deal, though it wouldn't be the first time. ;)

For the Wizards, the only reason would be instant cap room this offseason to rebuild. After, I posted that trade idea... I felt kinda Heathish.... so with that in mind I was laughing the whole time I read your reply.

There goes the first round match-up.:)

I dont know why we would want Caron .. we already have Lebron. Caron cant guard 2guards. Caron is also a suspect 3point shooter. Haven't we learned from the Larry Hughes situation? Lebron needs to have shooters surrounding him or at least team players who do not have to score by volume.

Jamison would be the better fit here in Cleveland but he is pretty bad defensively. We could use him off the bench. He played off the bench for the Mavs. However, he has a bad contract.

Eddie Jordan is a former Cavalier who makes for a poor head coach, but knowledgeable offensive assistant coach. He far too often sacrificed real defense at one end of the court for a pretty looking game on the other. He was routinely out-coached by Mike Brown.

You know the Nets used to play terrific D when Jordan was with them ... apparently something didn't convey when he left for the Wiz.

I suppose we could work the Princeton motion sets and read/react stuff in to our offense, but I wonder if somehow that could be successfully cut off from all the other baggage that seemed to afflict the Wizards ... the run 'n gun style where they had to outshoot their opponents to win and the garbage defensive schemes? It's not easy balancing the needs of an offense with those of a defense.

Eddie Jordan stole a lot of the credit when he was in NJ, but Byron Scott is the one who's put together a well rounded team.

It's an example of why I hoped the Cavs wouldn't hire an "offensive assistant" until at least after the current staff had a shot with a decent PG. If the Cavs had for instance landed Flip Saunders this season, then all the credit for the improved offense would be heaped upon him.

It's so much more satisfying seeing Brown and his staff get the credit now that they finally have a productive back-court.
