rabman- The Wiz always (when healthy) had the fire power to give some of the top teams fits, they even beat us last season and reamed the Celts. Yes, their inability to even try to play defense has been their Achilles heal, but I think Flip's zones will actually help them a lot.
Their depth is actually pretty good with Miller and Foye added to the roster, but their bench will depends a lot on whether guys like Blatche, McGuire, McGee, Young, and Crittendon are ready to contribute with any consistency. Oberto gives them some frontcourt depth, but they'll probably end up having to go small at times - which they always liked to do. Miller is a real interesting addition to their team with his height, shooting, and playmaking ability; and Foye may do for them what Hughes used to.
It really all depends how Arenas, Haywood, and Stevenson come back and if they can stay off the injured list. The #4 spot is up for grabs, IMO.
Heck, let's try to figure out their depth chart:
C: Haywood, Oberto, McGee
PF: Jamison, Blatche, McGuire
SF: Butler, Miller, McGuire
SG: Stevenson, Foye, Young, Miller,
PG: Arenas, James, Crittendon, Foye
If anything they may have too many backcourt players, and too few minutes.
Their best team in the past had the same 4 starters, but with Jared Jeffries, Antonio Daniels, Michael Ruffin, Etan Thomas, and scrubs. So they have a much better roster then that.
