Marc Stein: Source tells ESPN.com that Wolves will release C Mark Blount later Monday, making Blount eligible to appear in the playoffs for another team

His game is mostly offense, but still, a 7 footer. Is there a chance we can sign him for the min?

Only player in the league I'd play Jiggles over.

Absolutely not!

I'd rather stay the course with what we have until Z gets back.

Mark Blount won't give us anything special, and he'll just be gone in a couple weeks anyway.

Might as well not waste the money.

Now if Battie shakes loose today I'd think long and hard about getting him.

I demand to be thanked for finding a topic everyone agrees on!

Smokin' Mark Blount has been consistently out-played since having a good two month stretch back in 2004, earning a horrible contract from the Celtics. Back then, the Cavs were playing Lee Nailon as a sixth man.

Last season, Blount was permanently benched in Miami in favor of Joel Anthony.

Horrible player, horrible career.

dont have enough roster spots anyway... why release a player, then sign a player, just too have to release him again when big z comes back!

WASTE OF MONEY

You're right. We're looking at that as well. Lots of internal talk about whether it is the prudent move to make, or whather we might just look to ride out the bad fortune.

I personally think we'll just look to ride it out and use this as an opportunity to continue to give minutes to develop JJ, and get Leon Powe acclimated, and sharpened.

But, it's being discussed. The most meaningful people think we're best to just ride it out it appears.

Yeah, riding it out is probably the best move. We'd have to cut someone to bring him in and then we'd have to cut him or another player when Z comes back. Plus, he wouldn't come here knowing he only had 3 weeks.

Mark Blount, former celtic?
Seems like we are stacking our bench with former Celtics, started with Delonte, then Powe, maybe even Blount.
I wouldnt mind another 7 footer as long as its not Danny Green getting cut. But i say stick it out until Big Z returns home.

Come to home daddy!

This whole sentence trumps every "That's What She Said" phrases ever conceived. Wow!

We just acquired a crappy former Celtic.

It's the Jiri Welsch rule: while the GM of the Cleveland Cavaliers, pace yourself with Boston's roster fodder.
