Ron Artest to Lakers
Ariza is out

Hedo goes to portland
Toronto has room
Toronto signs Ariza
Prarker is out

Boston signs Sheed to MLE
Boston signs Hill to BAE
Glen Davis out?

Milsap goes to OKC

Houston pushes hard for AV, driving his demands up

Dallas resigns Kidd and Bass

This leaves us to look at: Sean May, Davis?, Gerald Green, Anthony Carter, Von Wafer, Marquis Daniels, Chris Wilcox, Desmond Mason, Matt Brnes, Frye, Rashad McCants, Anthony Parker, and Joey Graham.

Doing this made me realize why W&G has been reiterating the idea of letting the other teams overpay/set the market. These are all solid options if all goes "wrong". My top choices would be to sign Parker or Graham if the Raps bring Parker. And Glen Davis in this scenario since Rasheed would push him deep down their lineup. Davis could start beside Shaq because he has steadily improved his jumper. Only problem in this scenario is Bos offering more than the BAE to Davis. Anthony Carter is out in Danver with them acquiring Ty Lawson to be a backup to Billups. I'd offer Carter 1.6 mil of MLE, and the rest goes to Parker/Daniels/Graham/McCants... And I would offer the BAE to Davis, if Boston goes above(this is a worst case scenerio after all), I'd offer it to Chris Wilcox then Sean May.

So if LA gets Artest, and Ariza goes elsewhere, don't be discouraged, the Cavs have stars already in #23, Shaq, Mo. And we have very solid options to come in FA to fill thier role championship teams always have solid role players. Even if we don't get a big name FA, these solid roleplayers will be available to us.

Don't get me wrong I'm still on the Artest/Ariza bandwagon, but I won't be PO'd if they don't come to Cleveland, as we can still round our roster out very nicely.

Parker, Frye, Barnes, and also Walter Hermann(Detroit) could all have servicable roles in our roster. Possible we could get all 4 without even useing the full MLE, giving us players and some cash to use(MLE) at the trade deadline. Also Linas Kleiza and Dahntay Jones is out there.

wine and gold didn't spell it all out like you did in this post, but this is exactly what he was conveying to me. he said that so many options exist, and all are of excellent quality, that we really can just really extend offrs to those that we have an interest in, and express our interest. but, when all is said and done players available know what we have to offer and once they realize what the few teams out there that can offer them better deals, either do so, or pass on them, then we will be able to know exacvtly where we stand, and who we'll end up with.

Great perspective. Now sign Artest Ferry!

Gee thanks

All kidding aside, this looks more and more like what's about to happen, Artest is gone and Ariza is stongly looking elsewhere. The only way I see Ariza coming here is to say really say screw and sign a 1 year deal with us for the MLE and play the FA game next year when more teams have $.

Now, it appears that Dallas is strongly eyeing Gortat, this may mean Bass is out. if so I'd throw gladly throw the MLE his way if Ariza goes elsewhere. Then sign a wing for the BAE and a vet PG to run the 2nd unit for vet min. (appears Marbury is available along with AI :puke:).

I dont understand why every one is in love with Gortat. I saw him in the playoffs and i was not very impressed. He seemed to play ok but thats about it ok he didnt play out of his mind and he also normally dosnt play like he did in the playoffs. Idk imo it would be stupid to sign Gotat with Shaq and Andy on the roster as we would have to play two of them at the same time alot and it would clog the paint. I am not saying i am agianst Gortat maybe as an option if Andy leaves but people are saying to give him the full MLE and i just dont see it.

When we got Shaq, I thought McDyess was our best available option. Artest, Ariza, would have been bonuses.

I'm not saying we should have gone after Gortat, he=Andy, nothing more. I was expressing that Bass may now be open to the MLE and a starting job in Cle.
