A lot more competition with wing players these days, IMO. Would have been a whole lot harder, that's for sure.

If he still had the same team, with Scottie, Dennis etc, he would still win around 3 or maybe more tittles.

the athleticism has far surpassed that generation

i dont think so

6 no, but there really is no way of telling I guess. If he had the exact same team, coach, GM, etc then maybe 3, but he would end up getting steam rolled by the GOAT.

Nobody is fucking with the Bulls of the Jordan era. Not a chance.

Nobody is fucking with the Bulls of the Jordan era. Not a chance.

...maybe not back then, but these days there are teams that would definitely give them a run for their money.

What would you describe as today's NBA? The entire decade?

Whatever it is, Jordan would have it tough simply because the generation is far more advanced in terms on athleticism, injury support, and general technology to assist the athlete. But that alone does not make a team better.

First off, Jordan's team had two different generations. One was more focused on the frontcourt and the second had more in general. The first generation didn't have guys playing at a high level, but the second generation simply had more firepower.

Taking a look at the teams of this generation, I could make a case for the Mid 2000 Spurs, Early 2000 Lakers, but that's it.

Phil Jackson was still an outstanding coach who could take Popovich to school any day. And what's better than battling yourself? Jordan and Bryant were good, but Jordan was so much better with Pippen, negating Shaq to an extent. That is the limit. LeBron's good, but lacks a strong dynasty to compete at Jordan's level. Kobe had a dynasty, but had to reboot the system before he could get back there, and by then it was too late. Shaq is probably one of the few to really compete with Jordan, but he's not always in shape, taking away many of the advantages.

I think the Bulls are still good, but the new era makes it harder, though not impossible to win 6 championships.

Jordan would have had at least two more rings if he didn't retire so young.

Jordan would fucking kill... everyone mentions more talented wings, but forget almost zero big men protecting the paint. And the whole athleticism thing is bullshit, it would even out...

I say just because of expansion and the salary cap the way it is I don't think they would have been able to build the team the way that they did.

Jordan did not win any rings, the Bulls won 6 rings with Jordan on the team. With all of the defense and offense changes if they played under the current rules, I think it would reduce that number of 6.

No hand checking
Zones allowed now
Charge/ block changes

The NBA is a lot more watered down today as far as competitive teams go that is what happens when you have expansion teams, there is no debating that. However the average athletic abilities are higher now, and would have an impact.

Hell the current Salary cap system wouldn't even allow them to field most of the bulls teams that won championships, so the argument is pretty convoluted. 30 million a year for Jordan.... he would be playing with D leaguers now.

I never understand why people try and compare people/ teams of decades gone to current ones.

The only argument I enjoy is who had the biggest impact on the game of all time, not really the GOAT.

Either way the bulls as assembled back in the day would win multiple ships, I doubt 6 though.

No he woud win 15. Do you know what kind of punishment the defenses gave him every night. Back when hand check was allowed. Probably illegal defense too but I don't know. There were alot of good TEAMS back there and the Bulls had alot of pieces. It wasn't all MJ.

I would say yea. Jordan was a beast but along with Pippen they still would of did major damage to the league. Not having an inside scorer might have hurt them but you cant deny a Scottie and MJ defense would have tore up a any teams backcourt.
