Would you like Michael Beasley on the Cavs?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
My initial reaction was like so many others....no! However, he's a huge improvement over Casspi, that's for sure; and can play the 3 or 4. I'm still somewhat torn with whether or not he's what we want.....but IF we wanted to make a playoff push this season, he makes us a lot better, right now.

My thing is this -- Casspi isn't the future (at least as a starter) and neither is Beasley. Don't give up a thing for him (including money).

Apparently the T-Wolves offered the lakers that trade but for both 1st round picks. At that price that will be a hell no.

Not to be that guy, but I highly doubt Beasley is 6'10.

If it cost us a second round pick, then I think you have to try it. If nothing else we take a chance and see what he can do for the rest of the season. I mean i have to think he be better then a 2nd round pick. Hell we may even be able to sign and trade him in the offseason to a playoff team who does not want to use mle in the summer and get a second or more back. If your grant you have to at least make a call.

If he had one more year on his contract I do think the Cavs would make a move to acquire him (not using their own 1st to accomplish it). Byron Scott is a strong enough coach to bring in someone like Beasley and actually teach him how to be a professional and Beasley is the type of young player the Cavs will need to look at to fix the dearth of talent that is on this team.
sorry but this is silly.

Riley couldn't do it. Adelman couldn't do it. Scott's not gonna be able to do it.

Beasley is nothing more than a glorified role player and no coach will change that.

From the Hollinger writeup--
Poor decision-maker.
Relies too much on jumper.
Goes left nearly every time.
Subpar defensive player.
A tweener and doesn't always play hard.
Isn't a good passer or ball handler.
His right hand touches the ball about as often as I touch a comb.

He's about the last guy in the NBA that the front office would want to saddle on this team for vet leadership..

All that and the fact that his chronic cravings and high income would drive up prices over the entire greater Cleveland area.

So no no no no no. And No.

How the hell could Pat Riley draft this guy? What an awful #2 pick.

Was actually going to post something to the effect of "maybe for a low draft pick/filler," then I read this quote and realized this is absolutely correct. If Pat Riley of all people wasn't able to get a handle on the guy, I don't think Scott is going to fare much better, unless of course Beasley himself is tired of being tossed around between teams and plays with a chip on his shoulder (which I don't see happening, but you never know).

He was by far the consensus best player available. From what I have read in the past, Riley was never really a fan of him but couldn't find the right trade to move down.

What the hell are we gonna do with Michael Beasley?

Beasley can't play team ball. Pass.
