WTF? Major League 3?

There are reports that Charlie Sheen wants to get the gang together and to do Major League 3. He had a screening of Major League last week. My question is why? The first movie was awesome. The 2nd one was okay, and Back to the Minors was god aweful. Why wait 15 plus years for a 3rd one?

David S. Ward has announced that he is working on new film, which he calls Major League 3, and hopes to cast the original stars Charlie Sheen, Wesley Snipes and Tom Berenger. The plot would see Sheens's character Ricky 'Wild Thing' Vaughn coming out of retirement to work with a young player.[2] The film is being seen as the third film in the series, despite the fact that a third film, Major League: Back to the Minors, was released in 1998.
