WWE/TNA/Etc Spoiler Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Notable Smackdown spoilers:
The Shield takes their first real loss in 6 man action as Bryan made somebody tap (forget who even though I just read it)
Axel picked a win over Wade Barrett by pinfall

My own thought:
I'm fully expecting Orton to cost Bryan the match at Payback and complete his heel turn
I like Axel getting the win over Barrett, he can bring some legitimacy to that title if they do this right

We seem to think along the same lines on alot of things WWE, D-Wreck. I was kind of surprised to see The Shield went down to Kane, Bryan, and Orton for their first loss, especially because they have beaten bigger named threesomes. In WWE logic though, by The Shield losing that 6 man tag on Smackdown it's now almost guaranteed, if it wasn't already, that all members of The Shield will retain their titles at Payback. Fully expecting Orton to turn heel as well... it makes too much sense, and really the only way for them to lose without Bryan losing any momentum.

Also expect Axel to win the IC Title, and this could free up Barrett to move on to bigger things, like winning a Money in the Bank contract if the WWE decides to give him the push many expect. I'm a fan of The Miz, but he needs some direction. Winning the IC Title again wouldn't be the answer.

- As of this week, Ryback is not scheduled to win the WWE Title from John Cena at Sunday’s Payback pay-per-view. The whole idea behind the Three Stages of Hell match is that it will be used as a vehicle to get Cena over big for the summer.

Does Cena really need to get over big?

- The Payback card was changed over the weekend. WWE announced Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan vs. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns on RAW but as of last Saturday, the plan was to do a Bryan vs. Orton singles match.

At last word, Bryan is still scheduled to be part of the WWE Title picture in July and August of this year.

- On a related note, it’s possible we see two heels turns at Payback, one with Bryan and the other with Chris Jericho.

It'd make absolutely ZERO sense to turn Bryan, who is crazy over right now, and not Orton, whom while he still gets good pops, has grown stale as a face.

On a related note, I was actually thinking they might turn Jericho heel and do a double turn with Punk. With Jericho saying he NEEDS to win on Sunday, it got me thinking about it.

- This past weekend, WWE officials discussed doing Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs. Kane and The Undertaker at August’s SummerSlam pay-per-view. If Taker doesn’t want to do the match, then it will likely be The Shield vs. Randy Orton and Sheamus.

Other matches being discussed for SummerSlam include John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE Title, Big E Langston vs. either Big Show or Mark Henry and Rey Mysterio vs. Dean Ambrose, if Rey is able to perform then.

Orton vs. Ryback and Mysterio vs. Jack Swagger also have been discussed for this summer.

Yes please on Brothers of Destruction vs. Shield, Cena vs. Bryan, and Ambrose vs. Mysterio matches for Summerslam.

Ryback is done if he losses Sunday, which he inevitabley will. Dude hasn't won a PPV match in close to a year, and that was a squash match over some no name. He's had like what, 5-6 WWE Title shots in the past 8 months? WWE must only view him as a monster to get the faces of the company over (Punk, Cena) and not as a future face of the company himself.

Loving this thread and the information it provides.

Ryback is too clumsy on the mic to carry the company at this point, and you could argue he's not quite there yet in the ring either.

I love the Jericho heel turn idea. He's done some of his absolute best work in that role.

I might actually pay to see the Shield take on Kane/Taker. That match would be unbelievable.

I get that Cena needs a legitimate rival and that they're experimenting, but turning Daniel Bryan heel would be a colossal mistake. Someday the WWE will realize they're allowed to have a face other than Cena, right?

Anyone else think a Curtis Axel/Fandango feud might be cool? Two pretty impressive athletes.

What.. you mean Ryback calling Daniel Bryan a "little puke", or stealing the O'Doyle brothers line from Billy Madison, didnt do it for you?! :chuckles:

Ryback is slowly improving in the ring, I'll give him that. The WWE ruined him by pushing him too fast and involving him in feud's he had no shot of winning (Punk, Shield, and unfortunately Cena), and then having him lose the feud he should've won (Mark Henry). Despite the fact I wanted Henry to win that match at Mania as a personal preference, the result didn't make sense then and makes even less sense now. You have Henry win only to go on and lose a pointless strap match to Shame-ass before going MIA. Then the loser Ryback becomes the top challenger for the WWE Title (again) and we are supposed to take him seriously.. Right.

I pretty much agree with everything else you said, including an Axel/Fandango feud for the IC Title. Although, that would be heel vs heel, and as you mentioned the WWE hasn't seemed to realize heels can fight heels and faces can fight faces. While Fandango is a natural heel, he would have to turn I guess. The WWE is severly lacking quality mid card faces.

- According to a source, Big E Langston's babyface turn is no longer in the works. The Wrestling Observer recently reported that there had been talk of Mark Henry turning face for awhile now, and with Henry out of action with an injury, Big E was said to be taking his spot. With Henry returning this Monday, those plans have changed. It remains to be seen if WWE will go back to their original plan of having Big E and Mark Henry feud, culminating with a strongman vs. strongman battle at SummerSlam.

Very good news IMO

Henry v Langston is a natural rivalry. Easy move and lots of options to choose from with the build up.

Ziggler, on the other hand... I'm kind of concerned how they'll use him moving forward. He needs a truly great rivalry to legitimize him as heavyweight champ. No one on the current roster sells like he does, and he's an incredible athlete so I'm glad they're pushing him.

I'd be happy with Cesaro, Kingston, Swagger in no particular order, but know how the WWE loves monotony, they'll probably throw Del Rio or Sheamus at him again. Zzzzzz....

Via dailywrestlingnews.com:

- There is reportedly more and more talk within WWE about CM Punk working as a babyface. Apparently Punk is coming up on having just one year left on his WWE contract so it will be interesting to see how WWE books him over the next year.

We've heard a rumor that Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan and Luke Harper were spotted at the airport in Chicago, leading to speculation that The Wyatt Family may be debuting at tonight's Payback pay-per-view.
If they are indeed in Chicago, they could be there for the pay-per-view or WWE could have flown them in for pre-tapes and things like that.

Wyatt tweeted today:

"They tell you that there is no profit in peace and justice.... #Payback #FollowTheBuzzards"

For anyone who has a Twitter... It looks as though Mark Henry is announcing his retirement on Raw tomorrow. This could be real, or could be kayfabe. I wouldn't be surprised either way to be honest.

- Regarding Rob Van Dam's return to WWE, he will be working a limited schedule and won't be on the road full time. His contract is reportedly for the short term also.
- Due to time constraints, WWE cut minutes from two matches at Payback last night - Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns plus the Three Stages of Hell match with Ryback vs. John Cena.

- Word at last night's Payback pay-per-view was that the Ryback vs. Cena feud is over. The plan as of this weekend was still for Daniel Bryan vs. Cena to main event the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

As much as I want to see Bryan-Cena eventually, I really dont like the idea of them rushing that feud. Money in the Bank is 4 weeks away, but Bryan-Cena have no basis to feud right now. I'd rather see Bryan wrap things up with Orton and/or Kane in the next month going into Money in the Bank, and somebody else being fed to Cena, possibly Ryback again since Cena hasn't officially pinned him yet. Bryan-Cena being given a proper feud going into Summerslam sounds much better to me.

I actually thought the times of the matches last night were all pretty fair. Ryback-Cena was 25 minutes long. I know it was a 3 Stages of Hell match, but 25 minutes is enough for those two. The Tag Title match was about 13 minutes, and the ending did seem kind of rushed, but it was a quality card and I felt all the matches were given a fair amount of time.

Maybe they could have a 4 way match at MITB with Orton-Bryan-Kane-Cena leading to a singles match between Bryan and Cena at Summerslam?

Would be a good way to move on from Ryback and wrap things up with Kane-Orton-Bryan while building towards the Bryan title shot everybody wants to see.

Couldn't agree more. I don't want Bryan/Cena at MITB.

1.) We all know Cena's not losing the belt this early in his reign, so there's no doubt who's going to win.

2.) It makes no sense to start a feud at MITB. SummerSlam is the #2 PPV on the calendar, there should be fresh feuds starting there.

3.) With the whole Bryan/Kane/Orton story still going... and really, just beginning in the Orton phase of it... it makes zero sense to throw Bryan to Cena in a month.

4.) Bryan has so much momentum going right now and feeding him to Cena would only kill it. Sure, he'd still be able to get himself over, but it'll be a wasted opportunity with the momentum he has going right now.

Whoa, Cesaro with the Coulter faction? Interesting... could this be the start of a push?
