I thought I knew what fear was. I was wrong.

I'm sitting outside the operating room while my fiancee is in for an emergency c-section. She's only 34 weeks so gonna be about 5 weeks preemie.

I have never been more scared in my life.

About to meet my daughter for the first time. Hope there is nothing majorly wrong.

Re: Fear

There's a scence from blow that comes to mind....

Congrats and good luck.

Re: Fear

congrats! Everything turn out alright?

Re: Fear

So far yes. Obviously there are some issues with her breathing and development of the lungs etc. And apparently was a bit anemic, so gotta figure out what's up with that. She'll be at a NICU for probably the first month of her life. But she's already a fiesty little shit kicking all around, and for not having fully developed lungs, had a hell of a cry/scream on her lol.

Re: Fear

Awesome X. Congrats.

The important question is, How do you plan on spending your time during the dry spell?

Change the name of the goddamn thread. Congratulations!

Re: Fear

Congratulations, X. Always good to hear good news. Also, always fun to connect with all of you random strangers.

My daughter spent 3 days in special care. The stories they tell of the successes is amazing, I'm sure you guys will add to the long list of preemies who grow up to live normal healthy lives.

Congrats, X! So happy for you.

My son was 31 weeks, under 3 lbs and very anemic. He was in NICU for a month to put on some weight and to let the lungs develop, got him some sunlight for the anemia and all was good. Over a decade later he's completely normal. I'm sure your daughter will be fine too.

Just wait until you are at home watching a Cavs game on the couch with your daughter sleeping on your chest...it's an awesome feeling. Until she shits herself in the 4th quarter and starts crying so uncontrollably that she spits up on you. Good times. :chuckles:

How big is she? What the heck is her name??? I'd say Maxima, but that would be cruel.
