I have 2 xbox 360's one will have the old adaptor a/g and the other will be the new N adaptor.

I have a few questions for people that actually know about setting up networks. Will it work to have the two different frequencies? What kind of router would you reccomend that would do both?

Would Road Runner Turbo help at all?

I'm putting the N adaptor on my main tv that will stream netflix. Will an N router and adaptor improve it from blocking or should I just buy another a/g adaptor?

ALso I noticed the router I have now only does G, would an a router that can do A be better for gaming and streaming netflix?

Thanks for any and all ideas.

A? Do you mean bluetooth? Do you mean B? 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n are the most common wi-fi networks.

802.11b is the oldest and slowest, 802.11g is the next one, and 802.11n is the newest, and has the most bandwidth.

If you purchase an 802.11n router, your current wi-fi adapter will still be able to connect to it. However, it will not be able to connect to the n band, just to the g band.

802.11g will most likely have a higher bandwidth than your internet connection. So, if all you're doing is using the internet, you won't see much of an improvement from an N router. However, if you are having trouble connecting to your network, n's signal is stronger than g's, so take that into account if you live in a large house or have very thick walls.

If you transfer files between units connected on your network, you'll see a significant improvement from the upgrade from 802.11g to 802.11n due to the increased bandwidth.

If you're streaming netflix and playing on xbox live, you should definitely have broadband. Shop around and check out which companies give you the most bandwidth for your dollar in your area.

Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter Features:
Dual band 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz Wireless A/B/G home network compatible
Easy network setup
Compact, high-performance wireless design
Powered by Xbox 360 to eliminate adapter clutter
The Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter is Windows Vista Media Center compatible
The wireless networking adapter streams photos and music from Microsoft Windows XP and recorded TV, movies, and videos from your Microsoft Windows XP Media Center-based PC

This is what is says as it's description, the only reason I'm asking is because my network is setup G and when I tested it on Xbox live on the inital setup it says that my hardware can use A and that A would be the best to use if my access point or router supports it.

Hmm, interesting. 802.11a is like the cousin of 802.11b. While it is faster than 802.11b, it has a much shorter range.

If you get an 802.11n router with 802.11n adapters, you won't have any problems with your network bandwidth being a performance bottleneck. At 802.11g, you most likely won't have any problems with network bandwidth being a bottleneck. Using 802.11a or b, your network bandwidth certainly could be a bottleneck.

If you have the money, go for the 802.11n setup. If you don't, running an 802.11g network should give you a high quality experience.

Yes, they're are backwards compatible.

If you can afford it, get a gigabit wireless N router. otherwise stick with your wireless g router.

A N adapter can work on your G router and your current/old ones will continue to work on your G router and they will work on your new N router(if you chose to buy one)

No. Because the router and the adapters are limiting it.

stay with the N, better speeds, range.

N is #1 in wireless. A is worst. Your G router can do, G, B and A. N can do them all. netflix streaming imo is kinda weak, quality wise.

If you really want something todo, more reliable and better speeds just run some cat5 cables from your 360's to your router.
