So yeah my 360 isnt reading my discs. I would put in my disc and it would say open tray for a week now. Once on friday it played one of my games and yesterday it played another game but that was it, pretty weird.

I tried everything like using the dust sprayer(any key places to use it on the 360?), lens cleaner cd, clearing cache, unplugging everything. Didnt think it would last this long after everything i did

Any suggestions?

Im really trying to prevent sending i back to Microsoft and paying what i dont have.

Take out the hard drive and put it back in. Mine just did that and I took out the hard drive put it back in and it worked.

This worked for me in the past as well.

Stand the 360 up vertically.

Did that

Funny thing after doing it again(standing it up) it work. I took it out and try it again to see if its really back to normal & it doesnt. And now it works?

Havent played 2k in a week. That was hard. Hopefully it works good

My 360 started acting up this week too. Wouldn't read discs randomly, but I just kept opening and closing the tray until it started working. Unfortunately all of these are temporary fixes. Sooner or later your disc drive is going to fail to read anything.

Do any of you that are having this problem have the new slim xbox?

I started having this problem after I started playing 2k11 and I wasn't having any problems until I rented the game and played it for a week, I also have a 2nd generation 360

Buy a multimeter. Find POT tweak for Xbox 360. It's what I did to my drive. It lowers the resistance of the laser to let it read discs easier. Costs about 15 bux. I suggest installing all games to your hard drive to make your disc drive last longer. Mine has lasted me over 2 years of doing the fix and the laser hasn't burned out yet.
