Is it any good? I haven't played it yet, but thinking about getting one...

If you own one, you're rich...

But on a serious note, it's alright.. Depends what type of gamer you are though, because if you're a serious one it probably isn't for you. My brother bought it for his 9 year old son, and he barely used it. Ended up trading it in for a few games.

Its a cool system to have if you got some people over and you're tired of sitting there using a controller.. Other than that, it's not so great.

Thats what i was kind of thinking about having it for, i play more shooter/survival/sports games....

Its great fun, and great tech. My wife loves the dancing game and i love how quick she has shifted her baby weight :king:

When they first announced it, I thought there was no way in hell that I would ever get it. It looked stupid, inaccurate, and I'm into "hardcore" games (rpg/fps/ect). However, my girlfriend finally convinced me to get it and I'm glad she did. The detection isn't perfect, but its more than decent. When you play a game, for the most part, you feel like you're in control. Moving your whole body in a game is actually pretty fun, and can provide a little exercise now and again. Great if you have people over with nothing better to do. The only downside is the lack of games, as the only "must haves" imo are Dance Central and Kinect Sports.

Now that it's been out for a while, I would wait until it goes on sale. Checking www.cheapassgamer.com is a good spot to look for deals. I got a deal from walmart for $140 that included the Kinect, Kinect Adventures (the packaged in game), and Dance Central.

I played some games on the Kinect. We were playing some sport party game or whatever.. The motion thing is amazing and the track and field games were a blast.. Hurdles, 100M and long jump were my favorite to play.. Discus/Javelin were fun but I couldn't figure out how to throw the discus/javelin further

Get 4-8 people together, some beer, and a couple of black lights... then pop in Kinect Bowling. Just like being at the alley... Only cleaner, easier, cheaper and more fun.

It's a social system. Girls love it.
