Xbox 360 > PS3. Ps3 has these advantages - free online, internet, and blu-ray. I play xbox so i can play video games, not get on the web, that's why I have a computer. As for free online, the experience itself sucks since you can't even talk to your friends, and 99% of the people dont have mics. And the controllers suck total asscock for the ps3! Xbox is superior and it isn't even close. And as far as blu-ray goes idgaf I don't care if its blu-ray or VHS i just want to watch my movie.

It does suck that Xbox Live costs money and now the prices are higher but for whatever reason I still play most of my games on the 360 instead of PS3. In a way I kind of feel like I should have just bought a cheaper Blu-Ray player but there are some exclusive PS3 titles I wanted to play but just not as many as on Xbox. Both systems have their strengths and weaknesses but as long as the Wii isn't your primary system and you have either of these then you're splitting hairs over which one is better.

Oh I didn't realize they didn't add Last.Fm, Netflix, Zune or ESPN. Two of which are free. Didn't know that.

Did you know that we up here in Canada didn't get last.fm or espn. Zune is shit, who listens to the radio on their x-box, I can check stats on my computer and Netflix is paid. None of those services really screams a 20% hike in cost. If it were something like better performances on dedicated servers, I'd put down the $10 no problem. Hell, I'd even settle for better customer service.

They threw a shitfit that most people on Xbox live were playing Call of Duty *MW2 at the time*, and they wanted a cut of those subscriptions. So for every subscription sold, Activision gets $5. Hence the $5 increase on 3 month cards, and $10 on a year. Microsoft needed to keep their profit margins in order.

The internet browseer is key for me. I love to watch movies, but money is usually pretty tight so I watch them on my PS3. I know I could watch them on my laptop, but that is not nearly as enjoyable as watching it on my TV. And I don't really care about the BR player either, but it is nice to have in case. You people must just have shitty internet if you think the PS3 servers suck, on Live I used to get dropped all the frigging time so I stopped paying for it because if i'm going to get dropped i'd rather not pay for it. I hardly ever get dropped when I play online though which is pretty good, you guys must just be playing on crappy internet.

Quick advice though, was just gonna buy a 4g and literally just playing black ops which in total would be ~$270 or should I buy the 250g and trade in the 2 games that come with it and get black ops. I'm just worried the 4g won't be enough? Even though I have no idea what I would download on that 4g

I always recommend the 250 GB. But if it's not somethign you're worried about, you can always get the HD later for $130. Don't forget, you can always use a flash drive for extra storage if you need it.

Would honestly pay $200 a month for Xbox live vs PS3. I have both consoles and my buddy's (who own COD for PS3) convinced me to get it for the PS3. I haven't really played on the PS3 online but I will say it is absolute crap compared to Xbox... First off half of the time we can't all get into the same game together and when we do half of the time I can't hear a few people and they can't hear me.

Anyone who says PS3 is a better console may be right but anyone who says PS3 online is as good or better the Live is an complete idiot.

I have a PS3 and the online does suck, it's hard to get together with friends sometimes. That being said, i just think PS3 has better games and i thought the system fit myself better. It's all based on preference, i can handle shitty online play if it means that it's free because i don't play all the time online, just call of duty and maybe fifa.

Thankfully I renewed my live back when they had that Halo Reach live special, I think it was $30 or $40, plus I got some Halo Helmet for my Avatar.
