Didn't Pioli say earlier in the year that he doesn't believe in taking safeties that high in the draft. Also, the team invested a lot of money in Matt Cassell and first round pick Brandon Albert at OT. They had the worst offensive line in the league last year and they are silly not to take Brian Bulaga with the 5th pick.

Easily could be smoke coming from him. You never live or die by the words of front office folk at this time of the year. Hell canceling Dez Bryant's workout may mean we draft him at #7. Who knows...

I hope Berry is there at 7 I'll be crushed if he's not :(

No denying Chiefs and Hawks need OL considering their both awful...Walter Jones just retired too.

Could have done a couple december losses...

How ironic would it be that for all those people that were praising the Browns for winning those games come to find out that those meaningless wins actually costs this team draft picks for a player they could have had...

:chuckles:

Anyone who would give up two third to move up two spots for a safety must have loved the trade for Kam Wimbley.

If Holmgren and the Browns are really sold on Berry, then I could see them making a deal with Washington at #4. Obviously if you want the guy, you have to make a deal to get into the draft spot ahead of KC and Seattle.

IDK ... Maybe the #7 + #71 (and 2011 3rd) for the #4.

The key issues would be:

1) Would WAS be okay with missing out on Okung and settling for Bulaga/Williams for the sake of two extra picks?

2) And simply are the Browns willing to pay #4 money for a rookie Safety?

The answer to both may unfortunately be no, but of course you never know.

We all know the Browns are going to draft Sam Bradford. Holmgren has a massive man crush on the guy.

Who gives a shit what you're paying Berry if you're lucky enough to get him? If there's a guy available that changes the tenor of your entire defense then he's worth getting.

Look at what the Steelers defense looks like without Polamalu. Ed Reed's one of the best safeties of all time and still plays at a very high level at almost 32 years of age. These guys are a huge part of what makes these defenses the best in the league in a conference where defense is more important than offense.

Sign me up for Berry regardless of what you need to pay him. Fuck it.

Aren't you a Jets fan anyway?

I never understood it...you'd rather pay less for a guy of lesser talent?

Isn't the idea to come away from the draft with the most talent possible? Paying for the best sounds like an obvious yes to me regardless of position.

This is an uncapped year too, so I super-agree. Somebody will come in out of left field and scoop up Berry before the 7th pick.
