The New York Yankees agreed to a minor league deal with free-agent RP Mark Prior (Rangers) Tuesday, Dec. 14, according to ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Cashman with a low risk/high reward signing.... Perfect addition..

Perfect and Mark Prior in the same sentence...fantastic.

This guy should make you forget about Cliff Lee in no time flat!

Of course it is. When is a signing by the Yankees not perfect according you to and all the other Yankee fans?

Not like I'm a Yankees fan or anything, but the "Haha, we got you!" attitude towards the Yankees on this forum the past few weeks has been borderline hilarious. As of the Indians and their fans are in any position to be laughing and pointing fingers. This type of signing is the kind of thing our FO does every off season, not to mention our team to begin with is a hundred times worse than NYY as it is.

So, I have to ask, why are we laughing again? Just deflecting attention from the perennially terrible Indians until 2012 rolls around? Gotcha.

Yea it's a little funny...

But I gotta let them have their fun since this is all they got....:chuckles:

Say what you will, but I'd classify the Yankees organization as even more inept than the Indians.

Give me an unlimited payroll and the highest revenue stream in the game and I'll win more than 1 championship in 10 years.

You have got to be kidding me with this shit.

Pretty good for a team that didn't even originate in New York.

But $200M average per year for the last 10 years to get one championship is not anything to brag about.

And can the Yankees claim title to anything like Ten Cent Beer Night? I think not.

The Yankees front office was around for all 26 of those other titles before 2000?

Kudos to them for their longevity...

But as I said, the Yankees front office staff is seemingly inept...how else can you classify a team with the most arms in an arms race which continually falls short of their goal?

Don't worry though, Jeter and his .710 OPS have resigned....Clearly brighter days are ahead.

Inept is s strong word to use- the Yankees have made some good moves in these past 10 years. ARod for starters (dumped Soriano at the perfect time), Cano, signing CC, etc. To me, I think of the Pirates or Royals when I think of inept. But that is splitting hairs.

What the Yanks have done, and I think one would have to have rose-colored glasses the size of dinner plates to dismiss this, is squander a huge resource advantage. They have consistently drafted poorly and signed poorly in international signings, despite spending ample amounts in these areas.

Sorry, but if I was a Yanks fan, I would expect my team to be more like the BoSox- two World Series in the last 7 years, terrfic drafting, frugal FA signings, building from within- than what the Yanks have morphed into. They are turning back into the baseball retirement community that they were in the 80s, when they didn't develop talent internally and continually had to splurge on every good FA at the end of their peak. You would think Yankees fans would expect better, but maybe it will take a couple years of poundings at the hands of the BoSox to actually expect something out of the best-supported FO in baseball.
