According to Interbasket, recent evidence suggests that Yi Jianlian, is actually three years older than his official NBA profile states. A document showing Yi in his younger days displays his birth date as October 27, 1984, not October 27, 1987, making him 24 years old opposed to only 21.

This comes just a week after a crackdown on Chinese “age shaving” found 36 players in China’s professional basketball league were older than they originally stated.

He only lied about his age so he didnt get introuble for dating one of the chinese national gymnists. Ironically, she too lied about her age, she said she was 16 when she was really 12. :chuckles:

Yi is not Chinese either.

NBA players are not who they say they are.

According to Interbasket, recent evidence suggests that Yi Jianlian, is actually a Nigerian citizen as opposed to what his official NBA profile states. A document showing Yi in his younger days displays photographical evidence that depicts a younger and much darker Yi in his original homeland in Nigeria with his biological Mother and Father, who are both Nigerian. Nobody know how or when the actual transformation happened where the younger Yi (pictured on the left) transformed from a dark Nigerian boy into a Chinese man. (pictured on the right).

"This is the first of it's kind" said former NBA Legend Moses Malone.. When asked if he believes he was actually a little Chinese boy when he was younger and warped into a huge African American male that went on to dominate the NBA ? The Hall Of Famer was quoted as saying: "Yes, I do believe it's possible that I was Chinese. I like pasta a lot"..

Whether Moses Malone is actually Chinese or whether Yi is actually Nigerian ? We'll never know. What we do know is these documents on thee players are about as authentic as a $3 bill. This comes just a week after a crackdown on Chinese “age shaving” found 36 players in China’s professional basketball league were older than they originally stated based on their pubic hair growth.

"Young Chinese males do not have a full bush" says former NBA sharpshooter Dale Ellis.

When will this ever stop ? We'll never know.

These girls find this story outrageous.

So the Nets decided to shed cap and acquire "young talent" to lure LeBron in 2010? Fantastic.

After they miss out in 2010, though, they can always try to entice LeBron with the batman he's been looking for. A 32 year old jumpshooting seven footer that is just budding with potential!

Wow. First he'll only play for certain teams, then he refuses to adapt, then he's traded, now this.

Boy do I want him on my team...

On the other hand, Z has become inflicted by benjamin button disease. He is getting younger as time goes on, and has started to attempt and make 3-pointers, double-spin turnarounds, and the like.

When he was older, Z used to rely mainly on tip-ins, short jumpers, and his patented ground hook.

1. His AGENT wanted him on a different team, he didn't really mind but his country and agent wanted him in a bigger market.
2. How is it his fault that he was traded?

Questions Over Yi's Age Surface Again

Before Yi Jianlian was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks, there were questions being asked about how old he really was.

According to the New York Post, a report in China that surfaced on the Internet yesterday claimed to have documentation that Yi is 24, and not 21 as he and his passport claim.

"I'm 21," Yi said. "This story started a long time ago. Some guy just wanted something to write about."

The Nets have official documents for Yi showing his birth year as 1987 which would make him 21. And even if he were 24, no big deal.

"I'm not concerned," said Nets GM Kiki Vandeweghe. "Any time you have someone who is not from this country, those issues arise. What I look at is he's a young developing player. He hasn't played a ton of basketball to this point. You can look at his body and his physical makeup and see he's obviously very talented but still maturing. Whether he's 21 or 22, he's still very young."

There you go. I don't get why people are bagging on the kid, who cares, it happens to a lot of players from China. With all of Yao's foot injuries, he might be around 42 years old...
