How about a little Greg Allen love? I’m
A box score watcher when I don’t see the game, and this kid seems like he’s on a bit of a roll.
That would be a huge boost for the outfield, esp if his Bat stays hot.

People are getting too high on him at the moment. He's punching above his weight over the past couple weeks.

But the kid has always had a good approach, and good on base skills in the minors. We roughly called him a budget Kenny Lofton when he was still coming up as a prospect. Those skills are starting to translate to the majors, and he's shown power to the gaps that I didn't expect out of him.

He's been real solid. But I agree with the above.. Not sure how much longer this last. It's probably why it makes so much more sense to add Andrew McCutchen.

Love the fact Greg can come off the bench and provide a spark. How about Yandy? I feel he's been an insane surprise every time he gets a chance to play here at the bigs.

Am I crazy, or is he making the playoff roster...?

Allen maybe figuring it out- second stint of MLB action, and he played well last night (instead of only feasting off poor AL Central pitching).

I wanted Yandy on the roster last year! He’s played very well this year in limited action.

I read EE took batting practice- that’s good to see.

Is Baurer out through Sept? Read 4-6 weeks...that sucks

I have wanted Allen to get an extended look since ST.

Not that he's an elite prospect or a future All-Star, but he's always had such a good approach at the plate throughout the minors, and great contact skills.

We've seen so many guys build off that to become superb players at the major league level.

It takes these young guys time to figure out how to hit major league pitching- it’s a significant jump from triple A to the bigs.

I was happy and encouraged to see him hitting from the lead off spot the other day. Ideally that’s where you’d slot him in if he can consistently get on base.

Cutch would be brought in to play RF. Allen's your CF unless Martin comes back.

Thank fucking god Lucroy vetoed that trade.

I hated it the day we made it, and looking back, it looks even worse.

Is it me or has Melky become a decent bat?

I know Allen as come along, but I don't think enough is being said about Melky and him not being a hole in the lineup.

Then we run Smooth/Allen/Cutch for the long haul, or if Martin returns he and Allen share time in center? Melky probably has earned some more time, as well.

What is the official word on Bauer? 6 weeks? If he's back for the playoffs.. Be amazing.

Melky has been hot lately and is tearing up the BoSox ass. I'd say he's earned at least a bench OF spot at worst on the postseason roster.

I saw a cool thing on twitter comparing Allen and Melky to 2016 Naquin and Coco. Funny thing is, I'd rather have Allen and Melky.

I wasn't a believer once so ever but he's turning me into one. And apparently the clubhouse really enjoys him and he's opened up more in his 2nd stint. This goes a long way.
