Makes me wonder what the Blue Jays strategy is? Since Shapiro took over, they went from 93 to 89 to 76 to 73 wins. And this year, they almost look like a 100 loss team. They have been going the wrong direction for a number of years.Gotta give them some credit- beat the bad teams to rack up wins. Good work.

I know the old adage you can never have too much starting pitching.
But... if you can only start 4 in the playoffs, do you guys want to try and actively shop one of ours?
We have Kluber/Carrasco/Bieber/Clevinger all locked up through the end of Frankie's current contract. But Bauer is unrestricted before that time.
I think Trevor's currently our best pitcher, but what sort of package would you trade him for? Is there even such a package, or are you more comfortable riding out the next two years of Bauer and seeing what happens?
I'm open to moving Bauer to make our team better these last three years of Frankie's deal.
I don't think you'd want to rock the boat rotation-wise in the middle of the season, so I think it'd be best to wait until the off-season to move a starter.
Hopefully then you can slide in McKenzie, and manage his workload as a 5th starter.
Only problem is that Bauer is such a workhorse. That will be tough to replace. Even on a bad day, he can eat innings, throw 120 pitches, and save the bullpen. Maybe Bieber becomes that guy.
It is worth noting that Bauer will likely be seeing another sizable bump in salary next year. Probably going from $13m to ~$20m, if all goes well this season
Bauer if healthy is winning the Cy Young.DeGrom just got 17 in arbitration. The highest ever was David Price at 19.75. You think Bauer can put up a season (and arbitration case) better than DeGrom after last season?

Maybe not this year, I’m hoping this guy is wrong but he posted on another site, Clevinger might have torn a muscle and could be out 3 months to the rest of the year, I’m hoping he was just Speculating......Haven’t seen anywhere else....Unless Clevinger does....he has hit a gear I didn't know he had.
Going from a sore back and precautionary exam to torn muscle and out for the year.Maybe not this year, I’m hoping this guy is wrong but he posted on another site, Clevinger might have torn a muscle and could be out 3 months to the rest of the year, I’m hoping he was just Speculating......Haven’t seen anywhere else....
Should have traded Kluber in the offseason. We have plenty of starting pitching and need more hitting. And yeah during the playoffs you can get away with pitching only a 3 man rotation. So the advantage the Indians have over other teams is that we have more starting pitching depth. But in the playoffs we don't need the depth, our advantage doesn't work in the postseason. And then playoffs Francona panics and takes the staring pitcher out of he's giving up a run by the 4th inning, goes to the bullpen too soon.I know the old adage you can never have too much starting pitching.
