I don't know about you guys, but I'm devastated by today's news. Robin Williams painted a visual backdrop to my childhood and created lifelong memories, and the reason behind some of my personal whimsical qualities.

In memory of the great entertainer, post your favorite Robin Williams memories. This is my entire childhood and everything I live my life by, in one scene:

RIP to a man who gave people the world over a lifetime of happiness, but struggled to find a happiness of his own.

Because I was the age of the target audience when this came out, this was perfect

DPS was one of my favorite movies of all time.

It's obvious the 2 scenes I'm thinking of. Carpe diem shall always be one of my favorites moments in a movie.

My favorite Robin Williams movie is Good Will Hunting. That brilliant movie especially meant a lot to me with what I was going through at the time in my own life.

Just today before I even heard the news I thought about The World According to Garp and his reaction when the plane flew into the house they wanted to buy.

My first Robin Williams memory is his appearance on Happy Days that turned into the Mork and Mindy spinoff.

We were shocked by the news.

I loved the guy in just about anything..Only 2 celebrity deaths have really struck me which is him and Chris Farley. To this day i wont watch Chris Farley movies. One of his most underrated performances imo is One Hour Photo. He was great in that movie. The world just lost one of the greatest actors that we will see..What a sad sad day

Yes, this. Love that he played a psycho instead of his usual happy-go-lucky character. And he even had Lumbergh for a boss.

Patch Adams is another classic (one other celebrity I'll really miss is his roommate in that movie, Phillip Seymour Hoffman. "Aren't you a little old to be in medical school?")

Jack was an alright movie...but Hook had to be in the top 3 for me.

However, what role he had that made me uncomfortable was the one in One Hour Photo..

Have watched The Birdcage and DPS both within the last month. The fact that he could do both of those movies that well is a testament to how great he was.

What Dreams May Come was truly unreal (literally). That movie came out not long after my dad died, so I think that one hit me like Good Will Hunting may have hit KI. My dad really loved Robin Williams and I remember watching Aladdin with him many times. Mrs Doubtfire too. I can remember being with my dad watching both of those movies in the theater.

I'm rarely affected by any kind of celebrity news, but I agree that this is a rough one. He just reminds me of my dad in a lot of ways.

My mom was an an English teacher and professor. I went to an all boy prep school too for a while, Dead Poets Society is an all time favorite.

Forgot about Jack & Jacob the Liar. Both were solid films. Jack actually made me cry as a 6 year old. I genuinely felt bad for Jack not being able to live a normal life, and that he was probably going to die before 25. It bugged the he'll out of me as a kid.

His voice work was always top notch bc he was given the freedom to improvise. See Aladdin, Robotss, and Happy Feet 2.

I looked identical to Charlie Kosmo growing up I had so many people ask me if I was really him and if I was in Hook or Dick Tracey...
