I am torn on what we should do. I think we need to give it a chance and try to be competive this season. What poll we shouild have is the amount of people on this board who have season tickets and are ok with us tanking this year. Ok back on topic, I only want to keep Jamison if we do sign Barnes and get Sessions. That would be the ideal situation for him, beign the 6th man.

If there is going to be a lock out why not atleast try going out as a winner. How much will the causal fan care about the cavs if we tank then get locked out for a year. We have to face it, casual fans make up atleast 60 -70% of the people who go to games and help fill the seats which gives Dan F. the chance to spend money. Those are the fans that the Cavs have to target.

I think he should be traded if we can get something good in return. I think he would be a perfect addition to the Celtics, where he would play the role that Rasheed Wallace had last season. Unfortunately, outside of Wallace's retiring contract, there doesn't seem to be any realistic trade pieces that would come back to us.

6th man, preferably coming off the bench with Mo. A second unit with Mo and Tawn would have no problem putting points on the board while the starters rest. It would minimize scoring lulls that could get you blown out of a game. If someone wants to offer a lottery pick and/or a good young player with upside you take the deal, but no one is going to want Jamison until the 2012 trading deadline at the earliest anyway.

Jamison can be great in a 6th man role and as a veteran leader on this team. Cavs are left with few proven scorers now and Jamison and Mo are about it.

Like others have said, the possible lockout really does mess with what the Cavs can/should do. Without it looming I'd probably hold on to him for this season but because of the lockout it makes sense to pursue a deal this season.
I don't want to give Jamison up for only a little. He does have value and is one of a few Cavs who can bring something in return. With a contract closer to expiring his value should be higher than it was last season. An expiring contract, young prospect and draft pick(s) is the type of return I'd be seeking.

If we do not trade him before the deadline, we miss out on a great opportunity to rebuild the Cavaliers.

I'm deathly afraid that the Cavaliers hang onto Jamison and try to compete. Losing a valuable chip like Jamison could set our franchise back at least 1 more year in a rebuild.

I doubt we would be too hurt by missing out on the expiring contract and 2nd round pick we would get for Jamison.

If you think that is all we could get for Jamison, then so be it.

The asking price should be starting at a first round pick and either a TPE or expiring contract. And whether you choose to believe it or not, that would be valuable to a rebuilding team.

Washington got an expiring contract and a late first round pick for him. He is a year older and we won't be trading him to a team who is desperate to win a title in order to keep their superstar.

And what team that has cap space is going to be trading for a 35 year old Jamison? None. So no trade exception.

I think if he is moved it is at the deadline. I think we may try and stay competitive this year and by the deadline we will have a better picture on where this team stands. Plus that along with our trade exception we could definatly make some noise if some team falls off and wants to unload contracts and talent. I really believe we are going to try and bring in a big player with out TPE at the deadline if we are still competitive at that point

6th man/mentor, or go real small with Mo, Sessions (I'm saying this happens), Moon(or Eyenge, Green or Parker), Twan and JJ. Junk up the defense with some zones and try to get the transition game going.

Cavs still need help. the wing positions are empty and the PG spot is not filled with the kind of player needed for Scott's game plan.

i hope he plays his ass off in that 6th man role and his play convinces a team that needs scoring to take a chance on him for the stretch run. maybe to charlotte for diaw, najera and a pick

I think a potential lockout improves the chances of Jamison being traded. Jamison is much more attractive to a playoff/contending team for next season if they possibly do not have to pay him for a good chunk of the 11-12 season.

Edit: Nevermind I actually remember discussing this and the NBA players talking about planning for a year of not being paid.

Trade Trade Trade.

Let him take the most shots and what not before the trade deadline and ship him to a contender. If we can get a first rounder like we gave up, it is worth it.

Antwan is a great guy and a good player, but he has no future with this team.
