GSW just did it to Boston, and I will never understand why more teams do not do this. By far has to be the safest choice.

You ABSOLUTELY foul. You just have to be intelligent about it.

Re: Your up by 3, 5 seconds on the clock do you foul?

Especially if the other team has no timeouts (and great 3pt shooters) while you have good FT shooters you gotta do it...

Re: Your up by 3, 5 seconds on the clock do you foul?

I say yes. They made the right move there.

Re: Your up by 3, 5 seconds on the clock do you foul?

I bet we all agree on this for the most part overwhelmingly will pick to foul. However you rarely see this done for some reason.

Re: Your up by 3, 5 seconds on the clock do you foul?

I gotta agree with the GS announcers. It depends on where the catch is made. Anywhere a good distance from the basket then yes, absolutely.

...but when you have a team like Boston, and Ray Allen catches going towards the basket just outside the 3 point line, I wouldn't ever be surprised to see the refs call a shooting fall and give 3 shots.

Well when you have Ray Allen and Eddie House, and Rondo also made a buzzer beater 3 in the game, you're only choice should be is to foul.

Fuck Boston! Haha way to lose to the Warrios you bunch of scrubs.

Re: Your up by 3, 5 seconds on the clock do you foul?

I think I read somewhere that in this case, refs will call the foul and the shot if it is anywhere close to getting off. That's why I voted don't foul. Otherwise, might as well foul.

Same argument about the Magic in the playoffs series.

Agreed. Especially with 5 seconds left, you have to be wary. I do think though that most of the time fouling would be the best choice at that time, as long as it looks like the shooter was not actually about to shoot.

You also have to think about how good the other team is at rebounding compared to your team.

Re: Your up by 3, 5 seconds on the clock do you foul?

Anybody remember when someone pulled this isht on the Cavs and LeBron chucked a three and netted it? They didn't give him continuation for it...so I voted "Yes".

Re: Your up by 3, 5 seconds on the clock do you foul?

The continuation is definitely the worry. You have no idea what the refs are going to do.

I say no, don't foul. You have no idea how the refs are going to call it and it ruins the spirit of the game.

I know this has nothing to do with this, but on NBA 2k10 I was up 3 with 2 seconds left and I intentional fouled Melo, but the only problem is that he got the shot off and made a three. Than made the four point play to win it.:chuckles:

LMAO.

I think you should foul if you trust your big men to secure the board after the 2nd shot's a miss (which a player will intentionally do).
