Z Plans to Remain a Cav next season (and beyond)

I hope Z retires as a cav. One of the all time great cav players.

Of course Z is going to retire as a Cav. Where else would he?

He is going to take that 11.5M. Who wouldn't?

I think if we asked Z to, hed take a paycut and a 1 year deal. Hes kinda old and very humble I really dont see him as the money hungry type.

He knows how old he is too, so he'll know he should take less money and he knows itd be for a good cause.


id be surprised if he took the money knowing that he could take less to help the team even more.

There is no point for him not to take the money, we are over the cap anyways and he has earned every penny of the 11 million. We will have his birds rights after that too, so a deal worth near mle for a few years after this one will be fair for all parties. It will be the year before the new cba, which might threaten tougher penalties for being over the cap and instituting a true hard cap which could be devistating for teams like the cavs looking to retain their players and build a dynasty.

Good news, but I'm sure any future decision is contingent on how he's actually holding up. If his back starts killing him after every game regardless of how much we limit his minutes then it's going to stop being fun.

I do think his level of activity is important. Obviously at his best he's never going to be fast, but he plays so much better when he's rested, not dinged up, and has some spring in his step. Relatively speaking ...

I'm not sure how thrilled I'd be about Z being here past next season. There is a lot of tread on his tires. It just depends on how long of an extension he wants to sign. Fortunately, that is some time ahead of now.

I'm glad they retired his Jersey, this is is another thing that shows why, he has been a huge past of our franchise for the past 13 years, he likes his team, and wants to always stay in Ohio. He really deserves a ring here. Big Z FTW!
