Z sign and trade possibilities?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
i heard Z was gonna sign than traded to new york for marbury.. i forget where i heard that from...

I had only heard the Minnesota one, plus one with the Lakers involving Odom and Mihm/1st round pick.

I read that over at scout.com and NO, NEVER!

The deals that I like out of those ideas is the Pacers deal, and the Clippers deal.

Anything to New York is just NYPost speculation. Garbage. Don't listen to them. They're the ones that print that LeBron will settle for the MLE to sign with the Knicks because of a contract pluses in his Nike deal. Yeah, right. 4 year 25 mil contract VS 7 year 120 mil? Get real New York, quit pouting cuz you have a crappy team.

Surely we can get quality players from the Lakers for Z. They had an abysmal season. They may think that even though they lost the most dominant center in the league, they could pickup the slack with Z.

Players that they got that I wouldn't mind having are Odom, Caron Butler and Chris Mihm.

Odom/Mihm/1st rounder doesn't sound too bad for Z. Odom can be our inside presents, that boy is a beast. And Mihm was doing a decent job for us playing under Z, and I'm sure he has put alot more work into his game now.

If Mihm played on the road like he does at home he would be quality but unfortunatley he doesn't.

I don't get this love for Odom. He's not going to be playing SF with Lebron there and he's undersized for the 4 (especially without a true center like Z). Plus, PF is our deepest position with two young guys who are already fighting for minutes in AV and Z

There has to be some other team that we can get more for Z

And no way the Lakers throw there lottery pick in as well for Z. They have as many holes as the Cavs so they're aren't give up Odom/Mihm and lotto selection

It would be more interesting if the Lakers were willing to give up Butler, Mihm, and their first rounder. That would put Mihm at center with AV backing him up. Butler would be our starter at SG and with a first rounder we could get a point

What we do with our cap space at that piont? Don't know: trade Mihm for a real center and bad contract?

I like getting Simmons, Jaric and Kaman for Z but I don't think the Clips are going to want to do that. Those guys are their future. But that would fill every spot well.

A decent backup pg, a quality sg, and a quality big man.

I like this trade too, if we had to trade. I also like the Indiana trade. I dont care about Artest's attitude, dude plays all out and plays great D.

But, Z has to approve of any trade, since he would be signing with that team.

So, I dont believe he would goto a losing team and I dont think we would get much from a divisional team in a trade.

it sounds as if z wants money more than winning. so approving a team would not be that bid of a deal. but it is the clippers so he might not want to, but the pacers would seem like a nice place for him to go if he did want a sign and trade

how could you not like artest. the guy can pretty much shut down anyone he faces and he can score. he would than be our second scorer and could defend better than newble.

i like the indiana trade. Ill make that my new sig

I'm looking at most of these trades and struggling to find a happy medium. They are either too good to be true, or we are getting junk back. Maybe its just me not wanting to let go. How quickly people change their opinions on Mihm. Ilgauskas is slammed for his "softness" and now people want Mihm? Please. He has some ability, but he just isn't consistent enough to be relied on. There are not too many deals out there that will work, but thus far deals that may return Magliore or Wright would bring in the best fit for us.

The Clippers sign and trade is fascinating actually in that three players involved Jaric, Simmons, and Z are unrestricted. Could work but I just don't see the Clips just giving up Kaman who's still getting better for an old center. The Clippers just don't spend money in the first place and I don't see why they would spend money on a 30 year old center when they could keep the much cheaper 24 yo center

In all likelihood, this offseason is not going to go like any of thought it would and I am going to be completely clueless as to what to think about it. I just want things to happen already!

As far Z goes he is undoubtably one of the top five centers in the league and an asset, but right now is a superstar SF, an all-star C, an average PF, and a below average PG and SG. I would be will to trade that for a superstar SF and an average PG, SG, PF, and C.

This is true. I like to think that other front offices will be rendered temporarily retarded when dealing with us. But hey you never know! I mean Miami got Shaq for Odom, Butler and Grant...think about that!

Anything can happen.
